What an ill conceived adventure... I ***love*** it.

Print out the rider assistance network and bring a cell phone.

When you come near the south west corner of Ohio, I'll make sure you have a nice place to camp, or a nice little mom and pop hotel, and that you get a good meal and a nice cigar.

To the young Englishman-pack a spare belt and a few carb boots along with a shop manual. If you make it to western Wa. state I could warm up a beer for you.

Just joined from Dallas. Bought a buell blast off the harley shop as they liquidated their trainers for the new street 500.

Completed my first spark plug and oil change of anything ever, and feeling pretty good!

Ive mostly owned gsxr's and was about to buy a ducati when ebr came across my Facebook feed. I about fell out because I had no idea about what Erick had put together. The more I read about where Buell is going the more excited I get about an American built bike! Anyways, I hope to find acceptance from you guys even know im a jap bike owner. Lol . Hopefully not to long.

Hi everyone, new to owning a Buell only this long by choice. I discovered the Buells when I first started my motorcycling career. I wanted one straight out of the gait but knew that would be a bad choice. So after riding an Old Suzuki then a Triumph Thruxton I decided it was time to get the bike I wanted front eh beginning.
I bought a 09 1125r in Racing Red with low miles. So far I love it to death. No problems as of yet, the stator is charging fine but I plan on changing the setup this winter.

Hello. I answer to Brian and live on Cape Cod and have recently bought a one owner 2000 Cyclone M2 with 9K miles.
Having owned many motorcycles for the past 45 years, this is my first Buell. I was born in London and "did" the Isle Of Man for many years. This Buell would have been fun there on Mad Sunday. I have had many Harleys and work on older ones for others now.
The design of this Cyclone is er.....strange? I am working on my diplomacy issues here, metric and imperial mixed threads, Rear light bolts are 10mm f'rinstance, hex heads with no room for a key without grinding it shorter, steel bolts threaded to a brass insert in a rubber grommet??? - great if it is kept in a museum, a carbratooter you have to remove if you do not wish to service it through a small metal triangular "window", a zorst that will broil body parts...etc... BUT I love it!!

I spent several days getting the jetting right for the pipes and carb kit fitted and removing spiders silky webs from both handlebar switch clusters which gave a whole new meaning to "inconsistent behavior", disabling the sidestand and clutch safety switches (as no young children will be riding it) all new intake gaskets, removing about a teaspoonful of fiberglass dust from the tank and blocked petcock, then fitting an external cleanable filter, as there is no filter inside the tank, taking about 1.5" out of the seat foam and having it recovered then fitting ST3 bars, plus some other goodies. But now it runs well. It is a shame about the back brake. It looks like it has one, but luckily I am a front brake kind of guy since giving up fat girls.

I have looked in here for some answers but "buy the manual" seems like the preferred answer. I have it, but I will help others if I can and have a well equipped shop with a lift and just about every wrench known, near Falmouth should anybody gets stranded out this way. Fees range from a six-pack to a bottle of Bombay, depending on the severity of the problem

Brilliant! Sounds like you have it mostly figured out and will be a valuable resource for fellow Buellers. : )

I'm a Cyclone owner since 1998.

Welcome Brian. Drop the oil pump and inspect the pinion gear that drives it by looking up into the cam cavity. Check it in a few positions.

Depending on how the machining turned out, some bikes wear the pinion gear unevenly and severely. The teeth will wear to a knife edge, then break, then kill the engine. The current replacement pinion gear will wear much better. It would be rare for the gear to fail before 13k miles, but I would check it before long.

Make sure you have the upside down Y front exhaust hanger (nice cast part, not stamped plates).

Make sure you have the updated new primary chain tensioner with the thicker backplate.

I miss my 2000 M2.

Greetings from Indiana: ) im Kelly, bought an 06 Blast as my beginner street bike in March and started making her my own. She was a lil ruff, all stock except Jardin exhaust & lowpro seat..since ,Ive stripped guards, added custom plate bracket a millwright friend made for me out of ss plate, changed bars to a 2 1/2" rise( couldn't get drag bars to clear tank) installed a ducati tail light w integrated signals , arrow front turn signals & crg bar end mirrors. Im lookin to learn how to maintain and work on my lil beater. Thanks for this forum, its exactly what I needed! I had the carb worked on for a backfire issue that had me down for a couple weeks, I need to learn how to fix it myself, it ran great at first but now isnt running that well.It bogs out at top end of every gear. Also, after 1st gear is engaged, it jumps forward sometimes. Anyone else having this problem? Thanks guys!

Hi guys,
Been in a quandry for a while. Have a bonny at the present that I will keep. But it needs a stablemate. Dreamed of a duke, but cost etc has detered me. So I have thought what about a buell? V twin, looks like they handle, parformance should be enough for an older rider. I also like to tinker and I reckon a harley motor has plenty of playing potential!
So tell me reliability, problems.
Is the rotax motor a good unit.
Probably prefer a mor3 naked bike, bung hips you know.
Any guidance most appreciated.

Wow. Just discovered this part of the forum. I realize that I have never introduced myself here.

So hi. First off I am a motorcyclist NOT a biker. I treat my machine with respect and use it for what it was meant to do. Long time home mechanic, been on two wheels since I could walk. Been through a few buells the last few years among many other motorbikes. Located in south central Ohio. Hocking/Lawrence county are my typical stomping grounds. If there are any forum members in the general area feel free to contact me I am always looking to meet more motorcyclists and am always down for a ride pending work and family. I frequent buellxb.com much more often than this site (I prefer the format. I honestly find this site to be quite aggravating at times) but occasionally I brave my prickish grumblings and post on these pages.

Nice to meet you all and without further ado, cutting the bullshit. Here are a few pictures.

Sorry for the picture overload lol. Have a nice day and ride safe.

Rick

I am the sole Buell owner in the area. I love my Ulysses and ride it as often as I can. I found myself going to bike shows just to find other Buell owners to connect with. My riding buddies ride either those BMW's or Triumphs bikes. Nice but lack soul, I think. Just trying to find other Buell owners in the central New York area.

202 M2L Cyclone, love it. Used to own several Harleys back a ways, took about 25 years off for a family, now at 61 back on two wheels and what a set of wheels!

Buellers....I bought a new 2009 1125CR in Jan 2014 & had to lose 70lbs just to get on it by March. At age 59 I have found out that I still like speed & complimented the 1125CR with a V-rod...The 2 bikes are the rush I needed...just hard to decide which to ride. Love them both. I was looking for info for a TPS reset for ECM install and figured I say hello.
