I was just thinking (a) they've got an Indian connection (b) they're known for "out of the box" thinking and (c) Court keeps asking what are all these EBR engineers doing while they're not designing motorcycles. Maybe this? http://finance.yahoo.com/news/heres-india-made-che ap-spaceship-163445055.html |

Your not nearly as far off the mark as you may think. (Message edited by court on September 24, 2014) |

NASA could learn a thing or two. 100% built in the computer, instead of physical models. Boeing has been designing airplanes this way for years. NASA is too hung up on the way they're used to doing things. Being part of the government doesn't help. Red tape up the ass. No room for flexibility and innovation. My hopes are on spacex and scaled composites for the future of space flight. |

To paraphrase Rutan, "It looks like they eliminated all the wrong ways to do it". |

Guess it wont be long before we have Indians(dot head not feather) in space. Feather indians would be way more exciting. As long as there are also Space Cowboys. On a slightly more serious note... this thread has me thinking... When we terraform and occupy mars... how will the reduced gravity affect motorcycling? Of course this will be hundreds of years from now... the tech will have changed. We'll probably have some super ion propulsion that runs on tony stark's arc reactor. But... assuming you could take one of today's motorcycles to mars, and assuming there were roads developed... I wonder what the outcome would be. I think acceleration would stay about the same - i think you could accelerate faster, if you could keep the front wheel on the ground (limiting factor). I wonder if you'd have to corner a little slower, since gravity wouldn't do as good of a job holding you to the road. Hey, i just realized - part of terraforming Mars involves polluting the atmosphere on purpose. Mars could be the motorsports heaven of the future. |
