KC MOB... Nice meeting you guys a few weeks ago in Waterloo. As promised, I have the details of the shindig that I have planned for the summer. If any of you want to jump in on a part of the ride from KC to St. Louis, I'd love to ride with you guys. I'd also like to know of any cool routes across the state... I distinctley remember an offer for cold beer if I was in the area, I may just have to do the trip all the way across Kansas and crash in KC, if one of you has an empty sofa, and take you up on that offer. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show.cgi?tpc=6817&post=241759#POST 241759 S1Lightning, My buddy, Mike, ended up picking up the S1 that was advertised in the classifieds down in South Carolina. It ends up being a hell of a lot closer to PA where we are from than KC. If it's still in the market about 9 months from now, I might be giving you a call. Alex |

Richie, Guess that depends on how you look at it and how much alcohol is involved! I am sure there will be stories when this is all over! there usually is. Keith |

I started working security for a new company, so the work schedule kept me from coming to McBrides Thursday. I commuted to work Friday morning all the way from the Metro North where I live to I470 & Blue Ridge UMB Bank where I worked as a lobby guard for a day. Got assigned to work the Price Chopper grocery over at Wilson and Independence (what an interesting group of sub human species shop there) Wanted to ride the bike but glad I did not as the nice weather turned off real cold and windy close to midnight when I got off work, plus I was doing parking lot surveillance due to a rash of car thefts in that lot lately, so I sat in my van and watched the homies come and go, no thefts attempted and I had to stay until the registers got closed out and store lockup, so I did not leave for home until almost midnight. Looks like I will be working at Price Chopper every afternoon until closing this coming week except I am supposed to be off on Monday. Not sure I want to leave my bike parked in that lot while working when I can ride, too many drunks driving beat up clunker cars cruising the parking lot, too many thieving little jerks running around in the neighborhood. The new Pirellis are great, the bike feels much more sure footed and the engine was running really well when I drove down to Blue Ridge & I470 and back home. I ran up the Watkins expressway doing about 90 on the way home. You guys be safe and enjoy the start of the riding season. Look out for chug holes in the streets, I had to dodge a bunch of them Friday. |
