OK. I sold my 1125R, and the new owner has some questions I honestly have no good answer for. I bought the 1125R used in early '09. The original owner did not know the anti theft PIN. I have never used the anti theft, and have never had any issues. The new owner wants to know the PIN. He wants to take it to a dealer to have them pull the PIN from the ECM or cluster, wherever it is stored. I warned the new owner to swap the stock ECM back into the bike so the dealer has no way to flash the race ECM. Is it a simple swap between the original stock ECM and the race ECM? They are both paired to this bike. The service manual says to swap them, then do a throttle reset. I vaguely remember a more complicated set of instructions when I installed the race ECM. Anyone know if the PIN is stored in the cluster or ECM? Is it even possible to retrieve the PIN? I just hate to see Harley mechanics touch that bike, but it is no longer mine. I should not care. |

anti-theft pin? why bother? Ive always thought one of the benefits of owning a BUELL is no one wants them. Why would someone steal it? Seriously tho, swapping the ECM is as easy as you describe. Only need to do the TPS reset and good to go. TPS reset: bike on but not running. Turn throttle from fully closed to wide open 3 times, bike off. Done |

Yep, agree no worries. Just swap chip and do TPS reset. I usually disconnect battery before doing ECM swap, but I'm paranoid that way - not really necessary. Default PIN is 0000, btw, so if original owner didn't know it, chances are that's what it is. |

Thanks for the replies. Although I sold my 1125R, I still have my 1190RX. I will still be hanging around contributing to the site when I can. |

Thanks jolly, stirz007 it's 0000 is the default pin. If I enter it in and it's wrong would I be locked out? Or does it have a givin amount of trys before it locks out? |
