Saw something here recently about shades while riding. Will go along with they're not a good idea on roads where you're going in and out of shadow. I've been wearing a pair of "Serengeti" driving glasses I got eons ago. Like them. There's probably an equivalent out there. My 2 cents. I wear mine all the time when it's not overcast. I have very light sensitive eyes tho. My Nolan has an inner drop down visor that helps too. Remember if it's on the internet it must be true! |

My advice if you like your eyes: wear THE BEST pair of driving/outdoor sunglasses you can afford and wear them EVERY TIME you ride in the sun. Not all sunglasses are created equal. The big money ones put the best lenses AND frames out there for you. There is no magic formula here: quality and function costs money. I hate to say it but I learned this the hard way. I now wear Oakley's and Ray Bans only, designed specifically for driving/riding. Cost me $150-$200 for each pair but it was well worth it. My eyes feel good even after a whole day of riding in bright summer sunshine. |

+1 on the Oaks. I do commercial roofing and work on bright reflective surfaces and years ago I paid for some Oaks and my eyeballs have been thanking me. |

I have a photochromatic lense on my helmet, drop down shade in my helmet and I wear sunglasses. There arent many trees, the farmer have cut them all down so they can't shade their corn. I too have very light sensative eyes. I have a tendency to flash people at night only to find out they are on the dims. |

there's no water out here ...all the trees are dying...Mr. Sunshine is a killer...Try the fishing dept at WalMart...the Berkley brand wraps around nicely and some of the ear stems are straight making it easy to get in and out of the helmet...price is right too ($15)...buy a couple of pairs http://www.walmart.com/ip/Berkley-496-3S-Fishing-S unglasses/16489689 |

I prefer the Transitions shield that auto tints on my Bell RS-1 It doesn't change fast enough for the conditions listed, but that hasn't been an issue for me |
