If anyone can help, that would be great. S3 has just over 6,000 miles on it and has had zero issues. Took a normal turn into a parking lot, bike completely stalled out (no sputtering), and will not turn back on. Power to all lights, when pressing ignition switch, it does not even attempt to start, just clicks. I cant get any multimeter reads on the kickstand switch wires, battery is tested and good, I get no multimeter reads on the wiring connectors near the ECM. Is the relay to the left of the battery the starter relay? I'm at a loss here as to what the hell is wrong. Thinking a relay or ECM but how do I narrow it down? |

Could be the Bendix on the starter itself, although with only 6k miles, that would be a very early failure of the contacts inside. |

May want to check the key switch too. I had a similar problem on an S1W. |

I just had something similar happen on my S2. Starter relay would "click" so I knew it was getting power, but it would not do anything at the starter itself. All other electrical worked fine. I ended up push starting the bike since I was over 100 miles from home (thanks JeffC). Bike started right up, next stop I went ahead and turned bike off (gambled a bit) to see if it would start back up. I suspected a "hung" starter... Since all wires were good and the relay would click each time the starter button was pressed, And was right, it starts fine now but there is my indication that I'm gonna need a new starter... |

Thanks for all the info - did attempt the push start multiple times, no good. All 4 fuses show not blown but will attempt the pulling of fuses. Where is the key switch? I've even looked for manuals but its gonna be 2 weeks at least to get one. I'm getting power to the relays I've tested so far but can't get any readings on the ECM. I thought at first it was kickstand switch, but attempted to bypass with no luck there either. |

I would remove and retighten the connectors to the battery and check the main grounds. Also give the solenoid a nice gentle tap for good measure. Good luck. |
