That tis the question.... I have a 2009 XB12XP with the full light and siren setup. Whenever I drive it, I get a myriad of reactions from getting people slamming on their brakes and slowing to the speed limit when I am behind them to people asking me if I am a cop, to police officers doing the rubber neck thing as I go by. A part of me likes the attention, I mean it is a police edition "Special Duty", but the other part of me just wants to enjoy the ride and without the attention. I know through previous conversation here on Badweb that the XP is not going to be very collectable. I guess I am trying to justify in my little brain, stripping off the police kit and shelving it. Thoughts? (Message edited by slowride on September 07, 2014) (Message edited by slowride on September 07, 2014) |

Hell yes!! The siren is worth 10 mph just by itself!! That thing must constantly want to turn right with all that drag! |

In Pennsylvania that thing would get you some serious fines as your not allowed to have the colored lights even if you never turn them on....and then I'm pretty sure they would charge you with impersonating the law..but all of the negative attention aside....I agree with Tootal...that weight has to rob performance But...like you said...it is a police edition and if it's legal to ride it like that where you live...rock that bad boy |

I need a standard uly windscreen. I also need a white air box cover. I want to save the special duty version. Anyone want to trade a white airbox cover and a stock uly windscreen for my low seat? |

Use that siren bracket to mount a turbo! Then put some clear HID power in those flasher lights! I'm only here to help.....I'll be here all week! |

Vern, your trucking days are showing. You might want to get a script for that. Tootal, from the few times I have ridden with you, a turbo would be wasted on you, but the HID's... I think you would rock those for the next decade. On another note, I got a trade offer on a stock uly shield for my low seat. Does anyone wanna do a combo (Uly Shield and a White Airbox Cover) for my low seat? Bueller.... Bueller..... (Message edited by slowride on September 08, 2014) |

Clear lenses (or driving lights) for the forward facing lights...and ride it. I rode this for years. Plain white helmet, plain black leathers. NOBODY tailgated, NOBODY cut me off, NOBODY got in my way.

Ratbuell, I've always loved the look of those single seats, are they comfortable? |

I also had the same problem. Solution is [GO BLACK]. 30000 miles with full black setup. Zero attention. Problem solved. |

Timbobuell, To clarify, did you leave the lights on after switching to black plastics? |

yes, however I wrote a check and paid for switch to all white. This meets state requirements and was approved by the local leo's. All was done at dealership and remained under warranty. All of your lights are visually white until you activate them, so I would leave them as is. The only exception are the forward facing two large which under your blackout treatment are red and blue most likely. You could exchange them for alternating fog/strobe. I have written a previous post with the options I looked at, however I dropped the idea after installing led's. The black skins mask the siren and not once have I had an issue since. |

E-Glider, not rat but I've put over 40K on that style seat on my 09 Cop King. Awesome seat, I recently replaced it with a Mustang because it matches the Mustang Pillion for my lovely wife. Lots of room, excellent support and just a nice cushy ride. |
