Legally at least. Maximum speed limit on The Island is 55 mph. That is where the Uly like to eat and breath at just over 3000 rpm in 4th gear. Oh well, looks like I am destined to be a criminal. |

You think that's bad? My uncle has a Hayabusa and he lives on this little rock: https://www.google.com/maps/@41.3910255,-70.59451,12z?hl=en Top speed of said rock:45 I think. |

I'm with Hugh! Gear it down, makes city riding much better! |

OK, my post was meant to be a little tongue in cheek. Let me explain. There are actually only 2 "cities" (airplanes) here and actually only 2 "highways" (11 & 19) that go around The Island. About 80% of the roads are 2 lanes. Average speed limit is 45mph. Rural comes close to describing it. About 4000 square miles and about 250,000 people. More cattle than people. I regularly go 65 mph and don't worry about it much.

Now if you lived on Maui, 45mph would be quite thrilling on the road to Hana. |
