Court that statement MAY be a two edged sword. The reason most people that have bought EBR's have not heard of Buell have not seen an AMA race and don't know what WSB is; Is because those that have heard of Buell have watched an AMA race and do know what WSB is are not buying. Yes I will buy after they get a dealer within reasonable distance from me. Damn the Blue is pretty. I could put it in the garage and just go stare at it. |

Sorry . . . that may have been inappropriate information for this thread. It would be interesting to watch this dealer and see how many he sells. Experience would indicate that past Buell enthusiasm is neither a predictor or prerequisite for EBR interest. |

>>>And a good demo ride always sells motorcycles. ALWAYS. Buell . . the company that pioneered the "demo ride" in an organized fashion . . . . had about a 10% . . "have to have one" rate. I had guys, after demo rides at Daytona, insist on buying the demo bike they were on. The key here will be to watch RPM. . . we now know they have the product and potential customers with a burning desire to buy. The KEY . . that separates good dealers from the others . . is the ability to merge the two into a sale. Some have it some don't. I've bought at least 3 Buells over the years with no intention of buying a bike that day I went into the shop. I'm kind of surprise they haven't already sold a couple following the event. Someone keep an eye on it and report. |

Someone keep an eye on it and report. Badwebber Gemini bought his RX from RPM (their first EBR sale) and he stays in touch with them. I organized the "Buells in the Alps" meet RPM just attended. I'll pass along the info if I hear anything. RPM appears to really be on the ball; I think they'll do well. |

I dig the blue. There are so many good bikes out there these days, and EBR is definitely at the top. I'll be out a few years until my next one, but hopefully it's an AX. I'll most certainly travel for an EBR to get it from the best dealer I can. DaveS sold a ton of bikes to folks all over the country by being the best- hopefully most of the EBR dealers are at this level. |

I have found that if I don't turn around at least once and stop to look back at the bike I just got done riding, it's not the right bike for me. Every Buell/EBR that I've owned or currently own now has had that effect on me. Every time I get off of any of them, I stop and look back at it. Every time. That says a lot about the bikes Erik Buell makes. To make me want to turn right back around and NOT go to work makes these bikes something more than just a bike. I grew up around japanese dirt bikes and street bikes, along with a few harley's. I've had my fair share of bikes over the years, most were inline fours with the occasional twin thrown in there or even dirt bikes. None have had this effect on me like what I have now. If I could swing buying one of the SX models, I'd have one, but momma says 3 bikes is enough for right now. The M2 Cyclone I just picked up will end up costing at least as much as I paid for it to straighten it back out to rideable shape, so an SX is a ways off in my future. I guess I'll have to make do with the 1190 RX and the old XB9 I have for now. They do what I need just fine, so I'm pretty happy where I'm at. |

I'd have not hesitation about buying a bike a coast away and riding it home . . . I'm so there! The plan is to fly to Seattle on June 18Th next summer. Go to Bellevue Motorsports, Pick up my AX and ride it back to Ohio. So if anyone has some suggestions on things to see between Seattle and Columbus, OH. Please let me know. Right now the plan is to head down the Oregon coast to N.Cali. See some Redwoods and start heading east to Yellowstone, Bear Tooth pass, Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Devils Tower, The Badlands then staying northish with a stop at East Troy and then back to the house via the Michigan U.p. Got the green light from the little woman. Got the green backs. Just need a AX to be waiting for me next June in Bellevue. (Message edited by wolfridgerider on July 30, 2014) |

I have never been really overly concerned with the way a bike looked as a purchasing decision. I always have and still feel I can't see it when I'm riding it. It has to feel right, make me want to ride. Still a bike that looks like it can deliver calls to me does get to me. The RX is the first machine since my very first bike a many motorcycles ago that makes want to ride it ALL the time. Get up early to take the long way to work, skip lunch and take a ride, take the long way home, have the wife bring my clothes so I can ride to church. I LOVED my xb12r and not even it made me want to ride it this much. That said that BLUE is stunning, the moment they do RX plastics in it, I'll be out about a grand. Even though galactic black is clearly the fastest color, the blue may be the boldest. I wish EBR would change the tank logo though, too many people think its a C-BR instead of EBR. The font is right but its not distinctive enough. I've always been fond of Swordmans's design-
I think with a little more refinement it could be a winner. |

I have found that if I don't turn around at least once and stop to look back at the bike I just got done riding, it's not the right bike for me. So true Dean, I still find myself doing that with my XB and CR, even being 9 and 5 years old respectively. At first I was lusting over the Red SX then white and now BLUE. The only small complaint I have about any other the colors (other then white) is the Top of the radiator piece and lower faring being a different color. I wish they were color matched. The Black is OK white but I think it would look better the same color.

I think we need an 1190 color Photoshop thread now. I'm with the rest of you on color matching the side panels. I'm also with Finedaddy1 on the color matched wheels. Finedaddy1 has a red 1125CR with red wheels that is absolutely stunning. It's the best-looking CR I've ever seen. If that blue 1190SX had blue wheels I might have to drive to Greenville this afternoon. |

Wolfridgerider, Sounds like you have a great game plan for your route. When you come out we should try and hook up, I can give you lots of info for around the yellowstone area as well as the ride on the Beartooth pass. I am a native of MT, and I used to skip school to go up the pass and backpack outside of yellowstone. Good choice on Bellevue Motosports also, they are a great crew that get it. During the years I was doing testing and a lot of riding with Buell I used to go to the Pacific Northwest a lot. I have never had a bad riding experience there . . . . the people are wonderful, the dealers competent and cordial and the scenery is absolutely amazing. One of my favorite rides was leaving Portland . . . through Pendleton (REMEMBER: Oregon is the other state where you can't pump your own gas) . .through Boise . . into Jackson Hole and then up to Sheridan. It was on this journey that I learned to NEVER throw anything away that breaks off your motorcycle. While cruising along Highway 16, between Cody and Sheridan, I noticed my left saddlebag "bouncing" . . the top flopping about. I sopped to discover the the weld had broken from the round stock of the saddle bag frame, the one that attaches to the Dzus fastener. I was pissed. The broken off "tab" was still attached to the Dzus fastener . . . I removed it and had it in my hand, ready to toss, rock-skipping style into the rocks off the side of the road. Common sense, in one of the 3 times it's come over me in 60 years, spared the part . . .I tossed it in the pocket of the Aerostich and jury rigged the bag with a couple tie-downs and bungee cords. When I got into Sheridan . . . I headed straight to Bear Tooth HD and guess what . . . there. . in front of the building is a 1-ton truck with a welder working on the new dealer sign in front of the store. I showed the guy what I had . . . the broken edge of the piece mated perfectly with the ragged edge of the bracket and never have the words "no problem" sounded so good. I went in . . had a soda and pee'd and came out in less than 10 minutes to find the piece not only fixed but shot with black spray paint . . . better than new and he'd beefed up the others to boot. It's a lesson that's stuck with me in thousands of miles of touring this great country. Lesson learned. |

"So if anyone has some suggestions on things to see between Seattle and Columbus, OH. Please let me know." Wolf, I've covered most, if not all, of the route you're planning and have a couple of suggestions. 1.) Heading northeast into Montana be sure to take Lost Trail Pass (Hwy 93). Hwy 93 also runs through the Salmon River Valley in Idaho which is pretty nice. 2.) I lived many years in Bozeman Montana and I really like Yellowstone. But, I fell in love with Glacier National Park the first time I rode through it. The Going to the Sun road is absolutely beautiful and if you hit Glacier first you can take the ride along Flathead Lake on your way to Yellowstone. G |

Well I went down to the new EBR dealer here on Long Island yesterday. It is a Dutcati Shop and the owner was very nice. Seems like I found a new dealer to work with. I will be bringing my S1 and Uly there for the tires to be changed to start. He had (2) 1190RX's there. Nice but not what I am looking for. Told him I want to be his first AX sale.
