Just a thought, and don't giggle at my 2 minute photo-shop..Anyone thought about mounting an exhaust can like this?..maybe using a yosh, akrapovic, termignoni (like ducati) or even a new revised drummer (new project Brian) ? It would be a bit different and I think it would look very cool, sporting a chrome or carbon pipe. Love to know what it would sound like !!! just a thought...  | ||

thank god thats just a thought...  I would never put the exhaust hangin off the side if I didn't have to. Hell the other makers are starting to get this finally. and KTM superbike will have the pipe under the engine. but what the heck... it would sound like the jardine...they are almost all the same on the inside....V&H akra , yosh... but hey what the hell do I know..... | ||

it would sound like the jardine brian, how does the jardine differ in sound compared to the buell race can or the drummer? as far as the side mount..it would just be something to make someones buell stand out in a Buell crowd ! | ||

My humble opinion........FUGLY!!!! If your thinking about messing with an already good thing, why not run the pipe under the tail section. Almost forgot....I think somebody posted a picture from Japan with the side pipes. It looked silly. Again, just my humble opinion | ||

what I was saying about the sound is that they are all pretty much the same construction , canister witha perforated tube 2" or so and surounded by packing. I ain't saying it sounds bad I was saying they all sound realitively the same. the jardine on the rc51 sounds great to me | ||

I saw a photoshop of the XB9R with the exhaust coming up the rear like the 04 R1 and the 600RR has. Wasnt one of the better points of the exhaust on the XB models the fact that it kept the Center of Gravity low. Wouldnt changing the exit for the exhaust like you propose throw that off? Just curious, but why would you want to change the look of the XB like that? | ||

I am just kicking around the idea of changing the exhaust.also messing with some color changes ...would like to have red, silver and black body work.. and I would also like a change in exhaust tone...I think a polished oval side can would look pretty cool...again, just doing some thinking.  | ||

Why on earth would you want to ruin the gorgeous lines of an XB with a big fat can hanging off the side? You raise the center of gravity, offset the side-to-side weight...blah. You're one step closer to looking just like every 600cc race rep on the road. Oh, and that picture from Japan was dual exhausts, one on each side, and it was a X1. interesting, which is why I took the picture, but mostly in a, "Why the hell did they do that?" kind of way.
