Anybody try one of these yet? Price seems good in comparison with Shorai. |

Yep. I've had one for about a year. Works pretty well but seems to struggle a little bit when the temp gets down towards freezing. The in-set lugs on mine complicated the intstallation a little - but nothing too serious. It's crazy how light the thing is. Its only been a year - so I can't really speak to its durability. I kept it on a tender during the winter. |

"seems to struggle a little bit when the temp gets down towards freezing". That is because of the way Li batteries work. You should also use the specific Li charger. You just need to research it on the net to find this out. The Buell charging system is not designed, even though it can cope, for the AGM battery let alone the Li one. For the Buell to have done this it would needed an AGM SMART charger which would have added a bigger cost, and more complications, on the purchase price. Many will treat ALL batteries the same way but that is the WRONG thing to do. An AGM will not function the same, for example, as a lead acid one will do. Even the HD book for a 100% charge on a AGM is not correct. They say it is 12.7v but in fact it is 13.2v. In practice it will "float" at around 12.8v but if it is much below that, at a standing charge, it will make for much harder starting. I see, myself but ok if you do, little advantage on the road for Li. There are better and cheaper ways to get more amps and save weight if that is your goal. Your money though? |

Yep - Understand the way LFP batteries work. Yep - Have the proper charger. I made MY choice to use this battery as a result of the research I did myself and compared prices. You are correct. - My money, my choice. Thanks |
