I will have my cams soon. Its an 09. What else should I do while in there other than the plugs and coolant flush and oil change? Going to set to loose as this will become a trackday bike and streetbike. |

You better fix your oiling fault BEFORE you change the cams. |

Stevel, I know you tried to explain this fix before but I don't understand how to pressurize this with oil and where. Do the heads have to come off? Where is this oil passage? What tool do I use to pressurize it? What and I looking for if it is good? What am I looking for if it's bad? What is the repair? I appreciate your help and my bike is at a friends house 45 min away. I plan on trying to get everything ready to do the repair before heading out there. |

Skntpig: I think what Steve1 is talking about re: oiling fix is this... http://www.erikbuellracing.com/store/models/1125r/ 2009-2010-charging-system-rotor-modification.html What this will do is oil the stator better and keep it cooler than the stock 09-10. Everybody here that is a "convert" reports excellent results! |

I believe Steve1 is suggesting on pulling the oil pressure sensor, screwing in or adapting a fitting to take a source of oil (thru a fuel line/hose/wiper washer hose) and pressurizing it ( big hypo or with air) to see if oil makes it up to the cam journals...of course the cams are NOT in the head at this time so you can see if oil is making it to the top of the head/cams...this way you won't be replacing cams a second time...you may be able to do this with just air pressure...( feeling for air flow up in the cam journal) ...if you try that air only technique, and have the engine buttoned up (oil in engine)...make damn sure to spin the motor (kill switch off) to "refill" the oil galleys before you start the beast ( oil light goes out on the IC)...hope this helps |

Yes, apply an external source of oil to the engine as Nuts4mc suggests... well worth your time to trouble shoot the original problem |
