My 09 XB12XT sat for a few weeks while I was out of town and I came back to some issues. It's always started slow but when I went to crank it up today it turned once and stopped. I jumped it and got it started and it died after about 30 seconds. Afterwards the dash lights were staying on when the engine switch is turned to off as well as when the key was taken out. Battery is only about 6 months old.

I'm at a loss, any help would be greatly appreciated so I can get this bad boy goin again.

First thing charge the battery. After fully charged take it to batterys plus to have it load tested. Clean all grounds and ground frame contact surfaces.

Could it be one of the relays sticking or your ignition switch. Lights must go off after the switch is off. A dead or dying batt. should not be the cause of these issues. It almost sounds like something is draining your battery while it sits but if the switch is off that should kill everything. Keep us posted there good buddy. I am not an expert on XB's nor do I have a schematic available.b By all means clean ALL grounds and positive connections, that means BOTH ends.

I checked all grounds and connections, as well as load testing the battery and everything checks out. I'm leaning toward the ignition switch so that's the next thing I'll be testing either tonight or tomorrow. Thanks for your help and I'll be sure to keep you updated on my progress.
