How's the Doc doing with his intestinal problems? Hope it is nothing serious. |

How's the Doc doing with his intestinal problems? Hope it is nothing serious. Hey, nice of you to ask. Y'know, after all the major tests, they never could find anything wrong. I guess that's good, since all the "bad" stuff is eliminated (e.g. stomach cancer, etc.). Sorta got better on my own, although the abdominal pain is bothering me a little bit this morning...dunno if I'll ever be fully fit again. And I have a cross-country (well, almost: NM to Vermont and back) trip planned for departure Wednesday 7/9. Dunno if I'll be able to depart on schedule. But I'm still kickin'...very grateful to have Mrs. Greg to care for me. Thanks for your concern...only in the BadWeB community... --Doc |

That's good news Dr Greg. And both times I rotated my engine recently I made SURE I bolted on the tiebar bracket first and checked the oil cooler lines! |

Good to hear your feeling almost ok. Where are you headed in VT? Great state to ride in. Check out NH too if you can. Godspeed and good health to you. |

That's good news Dr Greg. And both times I rotated my engine recently I made SURE I bolted on the tiebar bracket first and checked the oil cooler lines! Does that ever bring back memories...in the end, good ones. I truly believe I had a better time on the '06 Uly than any other bike. Hopefully the GSW will at least match it. This will be my first "long" trip on the GSW. I'll hopefully be writing a "live" ride report on ADVrider.com...look under Ride Reports for the "American Tragedy" tour. Feeling good today; hopefully no more severe abdominal pain in the middle of nowhere. BTW, my route will be NM - northern OK - southern MO - northern KY - diagonally thru PA and NY to Vermont. A week at a lodge in VT then home the same general way. I've got some ADV inmates lined up to stay with, as well as the odd campsite and motel. Thanks much for any interest. This forum is the best. --Doc |

Something probably went sideways in there and then finally got back on it's journey towards freedom. Glad you are ready to get back in the saddle. |

Dr Greg, I was recently having a lot of stomach pain and sometimes it hurt so bad I could hardly bend over forward. My gut was making some horrible noises and I just felt lousy. I ended up going to see my doctor at the Mayo Clinic and told her I had been under a lot of stress lately in losing my mom and then my dad, losing my job and now a best friend died suddenly. They did an abdomen X-ray and some blood tests. All was normal so the doctor thought it may be an ulcer. She prescribed a heavy dose of Omepazole for me and I am starting to feel much better. Just wanted to let you know. Take care! |

Motorbike: I had (1) ultrasound, (2) several blood tests, (3) EGD (upper endoscopy w/camera in the stomach), (4) abdominal CT scan. The ER doc said I had an ulcer. But the blood test for H. Pylori (the bacteria that causes ulcers) was negative, so no ulcer. Every other test negative as well. They finally gave up and said "you're on yer own..." So my body decided to recover. The last few days I've been feeling EXCELLENT! --Doc |

Whats up Doc?? (Couldnt resist) Hey Greg - WTH?? Sure hope this was a transitory condition that is now gone. A good 2 wheel adventure is just what ya need. I got back last week from my Yukon/NWT/Alaska trip - great fun & no claw/fang or antler marks on me or tigger. Will look forward to your pending VT adventure - bring us along with pics & narrative. Always enjoy your wisdom, musings & perspective. Cheers pal, John |

Ah, my old buddy JPhish! Been a while, hasn't it? Still remember stopping by your place in Olympia (IIRC) on my way to Seattle for the robot conference. We had a great---if brief---visit. But good eatin' as I recall. Well, I'm doing MUCH batter. Looking forward to this trip, although I'm going to be parboiled during the first portion in my KLIM suit. Still, sweat is better than blood, no? Will make initial post of Ride Report on ADVrider.com tomorrow evening, prior to my Wednesday departure. Please follow along... Cheers, --Doc |

Indeed it has Doc. Lots of fuel thru the throttle bodies since we last chatted. Hell - I think on your Seattle trip we were both still gainfully employed. Almost ancient history now - I vaguely remember having a job at some point in my past. Anyway - glad to hear you're on the mend and beginning a new adventure, albeit in the teeth of the summer heat. Unzip vents & ride fastish. And yes - at the end of the day, sweat can be replaced with a few beers - no hospitals required. PNW Uly tells me your sporting a 12GS now - (or is that "supporting" a GS?) Excellent choice tho for an all road adventure bike. I will dial into ADV and vicariously join you on NE trip. Ride well my friend, Chow', jp |

For anyone that's interested, I'm finally back home from my: American Tragedy Tour (on ADVrider.com). Gained back the final 10 lbs that I lost during the aforementioned abdominal illness. Always good to check in on BadWeB...sometimes wish I still had the '06 Uly... --Doc |
