My 1998 buell m2 shock just blew. I've been trying to figure out how to replace it. I can't afford $1000, which is more than the bike goes for around here, for a new shock. I'm looking online at NOP and can't figure out which is for my bike. they all talk about the 1999-2002. Can I just measure the length (16.5) and get the replacement that measures the same?

I've searched the forums as well and can't find what the part number would be or whether this would work.

Measure from center of eye to eye. I've been searching ebay for one. Have seen a few on there.
