I was wanting to see if anyone had a black 06 Uly tall seat they may want to sell for a reasonable price? If not, then I was wanting to see if anyone could supply me with the correct part numbers for the 06 tall seat in all black so that I may order it. Thanks ! | ||

Been looking at different places to order the seat from, but the seat number above does not seem to come up. I did find this seat # N0025.1AKFYW. Would this be the newer seat number ? | ||

I did an online Search on Latus HD... Both numbers brought up seats..everything looks idential (price, desc etc) except the part number. When I ordered from Bumpus, I gave them the number above... if it has been superceded, they would know. I'd check my '10 parts manual, but I'm know at home at the moment. very strange... The only differance between original '06 stock seat (now called the tall seat) and the New Tall seat is how its stiched (I have both). I'll check my Part Manuals when I get home. | ||

Ok.... try this N0025.1AKAYW Is from the '06 parts manual (also on the bottom of the seat) N0025.1AKFYW is als on on the bottom of the seat. So, I'm guessing (IIRC) I used the first one to order and its superceded by the second. Just for the record... all the following part numbers are listed on the seat bottom. N0025.1AKFYW N0025.1AKAYCE N0025.1AKAYW N0025.2AKYW N0025.2AKYCE N0025.2AKYW is the Stock '10 Seat in the '10 PM.. so it IS NOT a Tall Seat. Interesting finds. when you say the stitching is the only difference, does the newer one have the stitching that does not rub against your inner leg as much ? I believe I will just ask a dealer as you said when I go to order to make sure I am getting the correct seat. I have an 08 XT, but the seat does not always agree with me on long trips. Was gonna give the 06 tall seat everyone talks about a go around to see if it suits me better. Appreciate all the feed back you have given. Thanks. | ||

I hate to bring back an old thread but this is as good as I can find. The two tall seats above...anyone know if there is any difference in the foam firmness between the two that are stitched different? I have a low and 06 seat. The tall seat foam is way too soft. The low seat I have is firm but its too low for me. If the new stitching tall seat is firm like the low seat I'd really like to get one. | ||

As far as I know, the only difference was the cover and seams, not the guts, but as I have never seen them side by side I can't say for sure. Bump out of the archives for you  | ||

Sweet thanks. I really hope they changes the density. I swear I come back out to my bike a week later and my ass imprint can still be felt in the seat. I'm just too skinny and cut right through it. | ||

Dualsportdad, I have the old version tall seat and a low seat. I tried the low seat, but the vinyl is too smooth and I find myself sliding around on it alot, mostly forward. The old version seat I got with the bike hadn't been used (it was switched out by the PO early in the Uly's life). It is hard as a rock! I almost wish it was softer/broken in a little more. Yours may be simply worn out. Looks like I'll have to break mine in a bit. I like the vinyl on the old tall seat much better too. It is very grippy. It doesn't allow me to slide around one bit, which I like. | ||

I've got both versions of the tall seat and they feel the same to me. The most comfortable stock seat I've ever encountered - assuming the height isn't an issue. | ||

I have an 06 which has the tall seat and I liked it except on long rides when the seams would dig into your legs. After riding home from Buelltoberfest I ordered a 10 tall seat and it's much better as far as the seams. Seems to be the same foam though. | ||

I guess for $100 it's worth it to get a whole Seat pan and all. I might try one in the future. Mean while anyone want to buy a low seat? Haha | ||

I put an 06 tall seat on my 08 XT and love it. It is easily the most comfortable seat of any bike I have ever owned. I bought mine a few years ago for $88 from Chicago Harley but I'm not sure they even handle Buell parts anymore. | ||

Just to be clear... You put the seat pictured above on the left on your bike and that's the one you say is real comfy? |
