this may help others, I was thinking of picking this up as an extra for my 07 but it seems a few things changed from earlier years to 08 and 09 http://www.buelletinboard.com/forums/showthread.ph p?12688-ECM-compatibilty-XB-models |

Can this ecm be reprogrammed either by the owner or in a specialty shop for engine mods? |

This ECM will be plug and play on any 2008 or 2009 XB12, but will require reprogramming to work on a XB9, or a 2010 XB, or any 2008+ 1125. It will not work on any 2007 or older bike, they have a totally different FI system. The ECM can be reprogrammed with the TunerPro RT program for any engine mods. |

Looks like it would be very complicated to retune from the info I've found. Who can do this professionally? Cost to reprogram? Just want to compare to the cost to the preprogrammed EBR ecm. Thanks |

It SHOULD be dyno tuned, which runs about $200-300 on the newer motors. Most shops won't mess with it cause of all the channels. You can ECM mod it but I don't recent that to anyone that hasn't done it before. I know a guy who will do it for that $300 but your bike has to be on east coast. |

Corey- do you know if it has new fan logic or old fan logic? New logic = fan runs above ~15 MPH and only comes on below that if engine is really hot. Old logic = fan only comes on above certain engine temp regardless of speed. Thanks! |

I'm betting it has the old fan logic. (I just picked it up as a spare for my 2009 XB12XP.) If there is any difference in fan control betwixt this and my existing ECM, I'll post up the details. Chris C |
