HI, I posted before and people said my problem sounds like a cracked/torn intake boot. I ordered one and my friend is going to help me change it. Is the bike ok to ride in the meantime because I am a beginner and would like to get in as much practice as possible. Thanks |

use RTV to seal the crack. Why you wait for new part. |

RTV is soluble in fuels and oils in general. If you're running a lean mixture due to an air leak you stand the chance of burning valves or holing the piston. Neither is a smart idea! |

The rubber intake boot or {Velocity Stack} on a XB has filter intake air passing through it. The fuel air mixture is done further down stream in the intake manifold where the injectors or located. Then that fuel air mixture is sucked into cylinder one or two .I have repaired pcv lines on fords using this method. But agree with what you said Andersonhdj. |
