This is THE Buell Forum, and there is no interest in this rare bike? Is the price too high, location in the middle of nowhere, etc? |

Too kewl....and to quote a terrible politician, "It's the economy, stupid." None of the ads seem to be getting the interest they got last year....give it some time. I had an add up and they just trickled in. That's a cool, rare bike though, you probably won't have too much trouble selling it. I didn't think they had actually produced any of the police bikes. |

"I have not tested the siren " How could you resist THAT? It would have been the first thing I tested |

FWIW the price is quite high. A "normal" 2009 Uly with 15xxx miles could be had for about $2800 less, give or take $500. From what I've read here, the "police version" is identical to any other Uly, the only difference is it has a police kit bolted on (siren and lights). Does a police kit add ~$3000 to its value? Not to me. Perhaps to someone else though. Good luck either way. |

The other unfortunate factor is, there aren't any new "Buell faithful" being built at the moment. When the bikes were being built...they were being advertised, marketed, and sitting in showrooms - new people were being made aware of them daily. Now...it's a pretty fixed market. Those who know about Buell...and those who don't. And it's pretty static. I will confess - I read your ad and thought to myself "if it was a 2010...". The '09 is a cool bike, but owning an '06 (and loving it!) it would probably take the combo of XP plus 2010, to persuade me to buy. Doesn't mean it's not a cool motorcycle. And, the siren ROCKS. You should blip it sometime. NOT at home. NOT early in the morning. And...DEFINITELY NOT in traffic. DAMHIK |

The siren also has a horn blast mode. At least try that to make sure the system is operable. If it doesn't operate you may be missing the amplifier. It's worth a try and certainly adds to the cool factor. Let us know. Thx. |

I for one think these bikes are cool and if I wasn't liquidating my inventory I'd be interested. GLWS |

There is one local to me with a few thousand less miles, for a couple hundred less and it has been for sale about a month now, I think he may have even posted it on here. So it appears you guys may have them priced as they should. |

Thanks for all of the input guys. I have had some interest in it, but not as much as I expected. I'm glad to hear that most think it is priced about right. Most of the kit is an add on that could be bought at one time, but I'm sure the light package and different luggage was not cheap to add to a regular Ulysses. And the VIN for the XB12XP bikes are coded (or whatever) as a different edition than a regular XB12X or XB12XT, so they are a legit "special edition", and would think are collectible to the right person. I'm sure I am just repeating what you guys know, but figured I would chime in.. |

While they are fun to look at . . . . the stuff, bags and cop kit, were expensive. But . . .as a used bike there is nothing "collectible" or "rare". and the added cost, for 99% of the buying market simply represent something they have to pay for, probably remove and, after the initial play with it and listen the neighbors go "oooooh" adds no value. They were fun bikes to build and there were several times we ended up doing special runs of various Buell with lights, sirens and decal kits. I kinda thought the Ulysses might take off. Unfortunately . . the group charged with marketing it, predictably, did a poor job of positioning it. http://www.harley-davidson.com/content/dam/h-d/doc uments/motorcycles/police-firerescue-shrine/Police -Brochure.pdf Somewhere I used to have all the brochures and planning information related to the XP models. The one you are selling is one of the better preserved examples I've seen. You, like if I were selling my super rare S2, are looking for the proverbial needle in a haystack buyer. |

That would be me Court. I believe I struck a deal with the seller. If you have anything in your stash of stuff you feel might go well with this XP let me know. Maybe we can work out something. Micah |

XP ulys are a collectors item, though i would normally never disagree with Court. Its highly objective and i am highly biased owning one. Must have the full kit though. FWIW i paid a fair bit less for mine. did u buy it slowride? where r u located? |

. . The value in this bike . . in my mind . . is not the XP . .. the stuff that needs to be removed or covered . . . but the fact that it's a ulysses in great condition. I, as old timers will recall, put the first prototype 2010 wheel on my Ulysses and it's quite comforting when out on the road. I'll be eager to hear if you got it . . . because Arkansas (the scene of the 3rd 1st Annual Buell Owners Group gathering in 1997 . . . has some of the best roads in the country. Hahahaha . . . we paved part of them with 9 Buells one morning. Just looking at this ad makes me want to go ride! |

A very cool bike....which someday MIGHT be worth a ton of money. Who would have ever thought a 1970 Cuda would be worth a Million? They are now. |

I cannot understand why this bike actually didnt go into service for the PD's. (Or alot more) If I were a motorcop its exactly what Id want. Hell, I'm not a motorcop and its what I want. Best wishes for new owner. |
