nice but can you make an exhaust can that looks like a belly pan? like the one on the KTM RC8R or BMW roadster concept. |

rocket the one at the bottom needs WORK. some dents and gauges on the other side, and no baffling at all inside. I tried with all my might to find a way to fit the D&D system on my S2, but alas, I waasn't as lucky as Lynyrd fitting his late model Borla on his S2 cafe. Gonna clean it and the race muff up and sell 'em. I'll keep my designed piece but I'll likely expand the inlet to 2.5" and either build or modify a header to fit, with longer primaries than my stock header. Stephen I just have basic tools for fabrication; I don't have the tools to fab a steel/aluminum belly pan. Interesting idea though. BTW I like your M2. If I had a non-faired Buell it would have dual 5 1/4" headlights as I've always liked the look. |

I am having the same dilemma for my S2........Have the stock 2" header with a supertrap on it, with 55k trouble free miles, but it exhausts straight back and get all over the rear wheel and oil tank. Quiet enough and will never break. I have a newer style super trap with the front elbow on it and a late S1 2 1/2 in. set up that looks great, exhausts to the side, but the air filter cover is too close and I don't want to change the "looks" of the S2. I have a race set up, but I know it will be to loud and they will break in time. The exhaust is the last thing left on my total rebuild, left to do. May have someone see if they can cut the elbow off the late supertrap and make it 2 in. and shorten it to fit.???? Ride safe...Jack |
