So I have the CB605SB. And Rick's Stator. And the EBR rotor. *only under load* above like 9k rpm, I get overcharged. If I cruise and slowly bring the RPMs up it reads 14.0V (with high speed fans on) all the way to redline. If I'm gunning it, the dash shuts off and displays system voltage. I thought I was done with this shit. | ||

several folks have the 605 perhaps if this has recently started you have a connection issue perhaps grounding? | ||

There has been talk from the previous threads I've found that indicate the CE605SB can be bad out of the box. I also have the same VR that you do. I also have a spare good stock VR if you want it, just cover shipping and it's yours. As for the dash shutting off, it is most likely a bad connection. I was helping a fellow Buell 1125 rider troubleshoot his R. With the VR plugged in, it would shut off the dash from presumably high voltage. Unplug it and it would light back up. I emailed Jack Fleming of Roadster Cycles where I bought the V/R, he had this to say Hi, I’ve heard of it now and then popping up. I suggest sending it back to Cycle Electric with a note when you bought and what it’s doing. They are really good about warranty issues. The only thing that Cycle electric suggested once was making sure all your battery connections are good, solid and clean. He told me that if you have a bad connection at the battery it could cause an intermittent spike. I would also try to bypass the circuit breaker by putting both wires on one post of the circuit breaker and try that. Jack I'm going to bypass the breaker, for some reason I feel like that may work. If not, sounds like I'm sending it back in. | ||

Well so far so good, seems to have fixed it. I'll have to rip it open a few more times but today I did twice and had zero issue. I shouldn't need a fuse there right? | ||

Beef the CB is a self re seting device if the wire movement resolves the issue, replace the CB | ||

I'm wondering if the vibration of the bike under load is causing momentary disconnect within the cb. It's the only thing I can think of since it doesn't happen any other time | ||

If the VR includes a circuit breaker, I would think that vibration would more adversely affect an electro-mechanical device like a circuit breaker that is in series with the VR and not affect an all electronic device like the VR. |
