Hey everyone, Jumping on the bandwagon with the first posts/rides of the year. Took her out last week to Madison County Indian and back to Cincy, OH. Rained all morning, and hailed so bad at the first stop I had to unload a handful from my crotch! Not a single miss from the Uly, and of course I outpaced the pack of BRP spider riders I was with (gotta love em'). My Concern is this: still getting low gear stumble when off the throttle. No kidding I literally have to hold in the clutch up to about 35 mph it bucks so bad. But, it never really feels like it's going to stall, and I have yet had it actually stall on me (but I have a constant fear of high siding one day going through a mid speed turn). bucking stops completely while on the throttle and is absent in fourth and fifth gear. Just changed my spark plugs and wires, no change. Had the primary open last year and it looked brand new; also cleaned up and tightened all the grounds. 20,000 miles. Does this sound normal for the Uly (my firebolt never felt like this)? At first I thought it was a fueling issue (replaced the ECM and relocated) but now I'm thinking it might be a clutch issue. The guy who had it apart last year said it seemed as though the clutch basket had more play than he was used to (not a Buell tech, just a guy I trusted that was awesome with track sportsters). Planning our (always ride two up) first true adventure on the Uly (Red River Gorge Kentucky) camping and hiking and all that and scenic byway and just want to make sure everything is in order! Thanks all! |

My better half and I took our first trip 2 years ago and she loved riding the Uly. It wasn't long before she mastered fountain sodas in the passenger position. I hope that you enjoy your first trip together. |

Had a similar issue about two years ago, tho not as bad as you are describing..... My $.02 is to check your primary chain adjustment.... 3/4 or a turn squared mine away.... |
