Hello guys I am looking to join the club. A guy down the street has a clean S3 tank repainted but otherwise original has the PM rims needs fork seals and a rear tire. Sounds good looks good but I think he is asking too much. What would you pay. I dont really know the bikes so hoping for some knowledgeable advice. I want the bike to supplement my sport bike as I cant ride that bike for more than 35 min on a highway before my legs are cramped beyond recognition and want to do some cross country treks. |

Does it have bags and do you care? There's a gorgeous 1998, on Ebay right now, down the road in Santa Barbara. He has it listed separately on CL for $2900. The bidding is at $2550 right now. He has both the deep and shallow saddlebag lids with it. It's a sweet bike with 16K miles. A lot of good miles left in that baby. If you're looking for a sport tourer, that one would be an outstanding choice. I have a 2000 S3 and a ZX11 with Givi bags & Heli bars. They are comparable in mission. The S3 is actually more comfortable, with lower pegs and a more upright seating position. I've banged out 500-600 mile days in the Sierras on the S3 and it was a great choice. |

Has no bags which is not a deal killer but I would be ecstatic to have bags. I am going to offer him what I think it is worth but doubt he will bite with the presumed loss from his set expectation. |

Well, the bags are available in the used market but, getting them the right color is an issue--especially if it's been repainted. If you're in the market, that one in Santa Barbara is an unusual bargain for a very complete bike. The matched bags with both sets of lids, the relatively stock nature of the bike and the low miles are the things that set that one apart. |

Greg that sounds nice but I am sitting in central NY today. Looking for an Iron but ride to travel some on while out east. |

S2 SF Bay Area. Too far away for me now. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/mcy/4477293384.html Now I looked at 2 bikes out east here that looked good in photo form and one was worth about $800 "He was asking $3500" if you wanted to be generous, and the other is priced high at $4300.

Maybe you'd be interested in my bike. Runs great just needs cosmetic work. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/21/ 732470.html?1399821848 |

I would have to figure out transport. But I would actually consider it. Let me look at drive time. |
