Ok i have a question. what are the settings on the tension knobs?? If i put it more tension on the resevoir what about the rear of the shock should it be more softer or harderr? Tips suggestions please. |

Do you have the Owner's Guide? It has recommended settings as I recall. Pretty sure the variables can be adjusted independently. |

The adjuster near the reservoir (front) is compression and the one on the end near the shackle is rebound. The following are the factory settings for the short recall shock and they are very different from the pre-recall unit. To set these, first turn the adjuster full CW using a flat head screwdriver and then turn CCW according to the values below. Full CW is the firmest position. Compression = -2.25 Rebound = -1.5 The factory settings for the pre-recall shock are shown in the Owners Manual. I'll post those when I get a chance to look them up. OK. Here are the settings from the Owners Manual: Compression = -0.5 Rebound = -1.0 I don't know why the settings are so different but that's what was shown in the pamphlet that was provided with the recall shock. Thanks kalali. would it show on the repair manual online?? I do not have the owners manual for the x1 i got the 16.5 in shock. the rear was very loose i tighten the front damper and it seem to. work for now. |

I didn't look it up on the shop manual but I think the settings I posted earlier from the owners manual correspond to the longer shocks. Start there and change the settings one at a time until you find the sweet spot. |
