Man, there is just no limit to the amount of energy you've got. Decided on colors yet? http://www.prismaticpowders.com/gallery/detail/397 3/Prismatic-Silver-Sparkle-over-Bright-Orange-with -Clear-Vision-Top-Coat/ Do that to the wheels and frame (note: it's a metallic sparkle over the orange). Gloss black on the bodywork, subframe, triples and anything else that you can think of. You know you want it. Like this on steroids:

Not much of a visual update but the cleaning of parts continue! I painted the starter and got the clean title in the mail from DMV. The frame and associated parts are now ready to go out for powder coating, I just have to remove all the parts from the wheels to get those coated as well. I should know a color soon. |

I'm glad you guys are enjoying this. Small update today, more parts cleaning. Here is the dash with a before and after shot.
Also, for the DMV trip I put a top end back on the engine and used some junk XB cylinders that I had laying around. If anyone wants to know how they look with T-storm heads here is a shot. Not bad in my opinion.

You should leave the key. That's funny as hell. |

I agree, the key should remain pink, or at least a small graphic of the pink panther should be put somewhere on the bike. |

I've already been thinking about leaving something pink on the bike or doing some sort of graphic. I'll probably leave the key pink just for the hell of it. The real question is what color combo should I go with on the bike? The fame will probably go out for powdercoat next week. I was thinking of a metallic orange frame with gunmetal grey body work but I'm open to opinions. Remember I'm planning on selling it after its done so it has to be something that is sellable, but in a Buell in your face style. Greg, thats my dad's bike. It was very molested when he got it. He's had it 32 years now and searched for quite awhile to find most of the original parts for it. Here's another pic of it.

My brother just picked the frame up from the powder coater this morning. I can't wait to see it later tonight. We will try and get some pics posted of it tonight. |

How much does that part of the project set you back? |

It's close to the color Greg showed, has a finer metallic to it rather then the large flakes. As far as cost, I was able to get all of it done for $450. |

You were the best thing that could have happened to that bike. Dayumm, that's going to pop when it's done. |

Thank you for everyone's interest in this thread! We are getting close to having to decide on a color for the body work. Do you guys think a jet black or dark gray would go better with this orange? |

Dark grey. I'm going to get my frame and wheels pc'd dark red one of these years, so thanks for the price info... my paint will remain grey with black stripes. |

With all the love and labor going into this how much is it going to cost to buy it? |

coming along great. Loving seeing it brought back to life. Dark grey would look good but trying to think of something else to be a little different. |

I figure the color might change last minute. I'm going to take the orange with me and compare it to a bunch of different paint chips. Blu1 I'm thinking in the neighborhood of 4K. I know I will never get my labor time out of it. It's more of the fun of bringing the bike back to life! |

Been doing more day job work lately then on the bike but I have got a few things done. Front head is all ready to go with new stem seals and I hand lapped the valves.
Mounted the tires and rotors. It was my first time doing powdercoated rims and I'm happy to say there are no scratches!
I'm also looking for some tank badges like these. Part # M0777.01A3 I think I have found one new one. Harley can't get them anymore and I only found one in dealer inventory. |
