I was waShing my s1W and notice that the cam cover/oil pump cover has an engraved or "etched" pegasus logo. Was this stock from factory? I don't ever Recall seeing 1 on other buells. |

Not from the factory, but you could purchase it from HD/Buell stores as an accessory/bling item. |

This isn't an add on item/accessory....it's engraved directly on the oil pump area of the cam covet. I ll shoot a pic later and post |

Pretty much any Pegasus logo items, except the emblem on the stock dash, was aftermarket. It sounds like you're talking about the points cover, which was either riveted on, or secured with some chrome or stainless allen screws. |

I think he's talking about the area behind the oil filter oil above pump area. Its a one piece unit with the cam cover piece. Probably stock. (Message edited by kalali on May 20, 2014) |

10-4, the one above was the aftermarket part - fitted to an XB, but would work on a tuber framed bike as you describe Kalali, as it was released during those model years, 1999 I think. If it has the bike's model and model specific emblem ie: M2 (Cyclone), S3, S1, etc then it's the stock part, should look something like this:

This is what I'm referring to
Just never seen this before on other bikes. Sorry its dirty...just finished a wet ride. Its not a decal....appears to be etched on cam cover (Message edited by dueller on May 20, 2014) |

Perhaps someone made a self-adhesive stencil and hit the cover with a sandblaster/media blaster? |

Would be easier to acid etch. Nice touch - never seen it before. |

Never seen it before myself. I bought this bike in 2000 with less than 1000 miles on it from a guy who was not really a bike guy. He was afraid if it I think, lol. He bought it from local Harley dealer who was quite vocal about his disdain of the Buell brand. What was odd was that the guy I bought it from said it was delivered from the factory with a few mods. And the original owner was not the type of guy who would do mods himself or think to have someone do it for him. And the local dealer said they did not do the mods. Nothing major was done whoever did it....just race exhaust, ecm upgrade, carbon ham can, jagg oil cooler, cut down cam cover and this little logo. It does feel a little "cammy" so maybe they were also changed. Dunno as it has never be apart in my ownership over the past 14 years. Supposedly someone from "the factory" delivered it to him with these mods. Who knows? All I know is it has been a completely trouble free sh1ts and giggles bike. Or as one of my buds who is a Ducati afficionado observed after riding it "That's the angriest damn motorcycle I've ever ridden." |

Looks awesome! I really think that's a nice touch, wish I'd thought of that sort of detail when I did my cam cover. Post up some pics of your bike please. |

Dueller: I can almost imagine the HD ad campaign . . . " Buell - Angry Motorcycles " ; ) great stuff. I'm still working on a logo that says American Performance Motorcycles. Gonna try the sandblasting this winter. Got a buddy with a sign shop makes some great stencils outta vinyl |

Did you trim the cam cover or the PO did? The logo was probably embossed when that was done. |
