Was at the track yesterday, and while running in 3rd gear around 7000 rpm I looked down and noticed that my speedometer stopped reading and showed a pair of dashes, and the battery light came on, and shortly went out, did this twice. Battery was fully charged before I went to the track, voltage was reading 12.7 volts hot, and 14 volt running around the track. Is this a instrument cluster issue or stator? Thanks |

I had a very similar problem recently intermittently while riding...I found that the ground for the cluster near the neck was simply loose, its part of the plastic cover for guiding the wiring harness upfront. Hope your solution is as easy. |

I have a 2008 that does the same thing at the track. If I push the bike really hard the display goes blank and then after the bike cools down and I go out for the next session it starts working again. The bike runs fine so I don't really worry about it since I'm not looking at the speedo on the track anyways. I am interested to see what others say who have had the same problem. |

Was happening quite a bit for me I've the part few months. Until I figured out the ground located under the headlights on the frame was loose. |
