Bill, just wanted to let you know the primo set of Thunderstorm heads you sold me are going on the bike now! I found a set of standard bore T-Storm pistons too. I've got everything apart now and the low mile barrels only show .0015" taper so I'll break the glaze and get this rig back together! Thanks again!

Awesome Jeff! Glad to see they are going to good use. Much better then collecting dust around here. Are you going to upgrade the stem seals? |

Yep, I already pulled the valves out, and lubed the stems, and put the new viton valve seals on the heads. The new T-storm heads came with new o rings in place for the tops of the pushrod tubes, but I'm going to replace those as well. Thanks again! |

Got it back together a few weeks ago. Put some miles on it and then ran it on the dyno last Saturday. It's doing 92.5 hp at the wheel at 6,550 rpm. 81 ft/lbs at 3,862. Runs as smooth as silk. After seeing some of the air/fuel ratio data I pulled the 25 pilot out of it and put a 17.5 in it and my idle is spot on now. My Nephew that runs the shop dyno suggested I go up one size on my main jet and drop the needle down one click, but I haven't got around to that yet. It runs strong as is, so I might just enjoy it for a while and tinker with it this fall! |
