My latest acquisition is actually my seventh Buell over the years. The previous few were Ulys, but it is nice to be back in the tuber world. This won.t be my daily commuter nor my long distance tourer. I expect to ride it primarily on Texas Hill Country back roads with an occasional trip to work. Are there any significant risk riding solo with a belt guard?

More of a risk in running without a lower: sucking in a piece of crap and thrashing the belt at a result. Nice bike, BTW. |

I just started running without one. The only thing that worries me is the oil tank. |

Have run without guards for years without any problems, my alloy oil tank has some stone/gravel rash but that just adds to the patina, plastic tanks are pretty tough too, it'll look even better when you de-lug that swing arm too |

Mine has been missing the top guard (was cut off) for thousands of miles with no issues. More importantly is the belt itself which needs to be adjusted very loose. |

I've logged about 30,000 miles without them on my S2s. No problems. |
