Thanks Don I know you were one of the guys on the board that sent me a email saying you liked the bike....Thanks. But I would never talk down someones bike on this board.I did that bike without knowing a soul that owned a Buell,I didn't know Badweatherbikers or any other forum existed cause I didn't give two shits about the computer other then my business (work) until someone turned me onto it. |

==something I didn't do before because that poor bikes been bastardized so bad I would be in tears== Got one on every board on the internet. What a shame. But if you want to hear something funny, I showed my wife the picture of Rocket's bike and Torro's bike and she thought it was the same one- hahaha!! J.Q. Public can't tell the difference dude. Get over it. |

After tossing it around in my mind I think I have decided to keep my breather setup after all. I have been looking at the other options and to be totally honest nothing else really appeals either. Somebody needs to design something innovative to put new life back into this market! I think for now atleast the Yo'Dude setup stays.. |

I just bought a 97s1 ! I'm gonna build it into a ET class bike ! ET class bike...good choice. All you need to start is a bike that runs. It can be modded and upgraded as time allows. I'm kinda jonesin' about making a pass or two with the 'Busa. Let me know if you are going to do Bradenton sometime and I'll be sure to be there. I'm also trying to get a friend with a 135 rwhp V-rod (Cycle-Rama heads) to go as well. It could be a fun day! My last race. |

Don't take it so personal. That bike is so far removed from the bare bones S1 I just don't get the point. Must be an American thing. It beats me that many of you like it. Sorry that offends but should I say nothing or should I voice an opinion? Incidentally Donn, I use to think your S1 was cool as ten up until about 3 years ago. Now it looks like a two wheeled pimp mobile. The worse thing about your S1 is it's too damn clean. I prefer a bike to wear its battle scars - not look like it lives in a museum. But hey, that's me. Doesn't mean you have to dislike me or worse still, compare me to Cecil. Now that is offensive As for the Cecil thing, you're wrong man. But it's fair to say I'm not for Buell like I used to be. Too many fuck ups caused by them and their representatives. Nearly 2 years downtime through the stupid mistake of a Harley Davidson \ Buell trained and well seasoned technician is piss poor in my book. You'd feel the same, believe me. Having said that, I'm enjoying rebuilding it. At least this time it'll be right, because I did it myself ! Anyway, I've seen lots of S1's modified in a way in which I don't like and I've seen plenty I do, but are we only allowed to post positive comments? Well sorry I dared to break the BadWeB etiquette. "Sorry that offends but..." Translation... you know that thing I just said, forget it, it's bullshit. "...should I say nothing or should I voice an opinion?" If you don't have anything constructive to add, it's best to keep a shitty opinion to yourself. It's not BadWeB etiquette. It's called being considerate. You know, that thing you always demand from others that when you imagine it missing you begine to think everyone hates you? Damn! You have issues. |

Rocketman, Its along the lines of if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. Bads1 worked very hard to get that bike the way he wanted and liked it. He took pride in what he created, as well he should. It may not be your thing, but don't knock it. |

Rocket you could have phrased your criticism in a non-insulting way. You might want to try it in the future, you might find people won't jump you as much. |

If you're gonna post pic's of ugly bikes, especially S1's, please have the decency to post them in a suitable topic with an appropriate topic heading, like "WARNING - UGLY BIKE PIC'S". I mean we wouldn't want anyone getting upset by viewing such pic's unexpectedly or worse still if some access BadWeB at work, them getting fired for downloading such vile. Lighten up dudes for fuck sake. Rocket |

Rocket....just because a bike looks like a museum piece in a picture, doen't mean it's not ridden. I concider Dana a friend and can tell you he rode that bike (and he usually rode it hard). Most of the bikes you see on the web were probably taken immediately after installing all the parts. Kinda like taking a picture of your bike in the showroom. Get a clue!!!! Seeeu....Your S1 looks like the complete opposite of the vision for my S1W. Yours is done completely in black. Mine will be done completely in white. I have the dash, Crossroads & frame brace out for some gloss white powder coat. I also sent the front motor mount to get some powder coat. I'll post some pictures once everything is reassembled. |

I had the great privilege of getting to meet Donn in person and his beautiful S1...all I can say about his Road Warrior is that the bike screams a big Attention To Detail with its layout...from my own personal experiences with bikes and what I have tried to pass along to my boys with their rides...Keeping your bike clean is probably one of the biggest safety issues you can confront..it keeps you up close and personal to the nuts and bolts that might be working their way loose to get you killed on the next ride..besides the fact that it shows your pride of possession...I've never met a bike I wouldn't be on if the choice was to ride or not ride... |

Sorry that offends When I first mentioned that we had sold our Buell, then posted pictures of the Hayabusa, comments like ugly, F'ugly, wouldn't be seen on it, etc., were not uncommon on the supposed PC BadWeb. And no one seemed to notice or apologize.. I guess you can criticize other brands here just don't criticize Buells. Rocket, I don't know what put the bee in your bonnet but your frankness has always been a breath of fresh air around here. People just have a hard time seeing the truth for what it is. I like the way Buells look.

Clydeglide i knew your were a speed demon from the first day we met. I am so pumped about the ET class but I dont know anything about what to do yet, but I know I want to win. Yes Lakeland and Bradenton in the very near future. nope your bus is not ugly, it a weapon, you've offered and I'm almost afraid to ride it..I would prolly get addicted. 1302 I've been reading and looking on the web and still dont really have an idea of where to start. I'll be calling you soon to plan a strategy so I know where I am going. It looks like with racing if you dont have a plan you can spend huge $$ very quickly. Thank you for offer to help you better you started me on this road. Lake_bueller I'm looking forward to thse pics. Rocketpecker..thats the best you could come back with ? I was wrong. You are nothing like Cecil...he's an original...you had it once, wit and personality..British charm even...but you've lost it man and now its turned you into a bitter looser. You had better fix and ride your Buell before you loose your immortal soul too pal. |

Rocketman, Sorry dude, I should have looked around before asking for your bike's pic. I do remember seeing it. Don't worry about what other people say. Speak your mind. Some people scratch too easily. BTW,Your bike---Aftermarket rims, Chin fairing - now that's original. The nickel / chrome frame is really different and original on a Harley - way cool...really. How much faster does the frame make your bike I was going to do that myself but I could'nt afford my engine mod's and that too. The smoother surface cuts down on wind resistance right? Just asking..........I'm stupid when it comes to bikes. Soundman- edited by soundman on March 10, 2004 edited by soundman on March 10, 2004 |

Considering misinterpretation of the written vs spoken word, not to mention Brit vs American humor combined with preconceived notions from other threads, I can see where some folks have the propensity to take up arms and ambush Rocketman on anything he says. However, having watched this portion of the thread develop and then going back to research the motivation for the vigilantism, I really don't see the merit for all the snide comments. Other than expressing an opinion that he prefers stripped bikes and made one techno error, I don't see where he insulted either of the bikes owners. What he did point out was the angular fit issues surrounding parts that either were stock or aftermarket clones. Look at the pics again and you will see where the heat shield really doesn't fit the flow of the bike's design. Concerning Rocketman's most recent post, I find a lot of humor in it. Especially, since he was teasing a few of us including me. All he did was make a reference to our comments about the death scenes posted a few weeks ago and then removed. In closing, I would think that if someone expressed an opinion, I can see where some may want to debate it, but I don't understand the need to crucify someone for their opinion. Each to his/her own as to what constitutes something either functionally or artistically desirable. We learn from seeing things and discussing them. Perhaps if this had turned into a discussion on ideas to improve upon the theme it would have really been productive. Just my opinion. YMMV |

Nevco, Well scripted. I could'nt agree more. When does "poking fun at" stop and a full blown salvo begin. It appears the line is a little wider and a little grayer these days. Remember, opinions are just like....well you know. Everyone- Sit back and smoke a fatty. Soundman..........

However, having watched this portion of the thread develop and then going back to research the motivation for the vigilantism, WTF ?? Vigilantism, get a grip, it's not been that bad, his comments/posts are such I'm sure he can take anything dished out to him !! It's not like he cares what anyone thinks of him !! I don't understand the need to crucify someone for their opinion. Your being kinda sensitive in my opinion, I think the posts were more in Dana's defense, crucify is such a strong word !! LOL CJ |

Both bikes are now very light at 323 and 335 pounds/full, with only a 8 hp difference (nod to the Black) - I'm trying the racing shift pattern on the Red but don't really see what the big deal is - why it is supposed to be better - I now consider both bikes pretty complete with the red not likely to change much, and the black will under go surgery when I get an XB to become a track toy - this of course will now have to wait a bit - at least till I get another job since mine has been eliminated - lol - still both have been great fun so far and the funniest question I get is - "Where can I get one of those???" - lol -in the city of SF the smaller bikes are as popular as the large - or maybe it just seems that way because of all the motorcycle messengers here. As for Bads1's bike - slick - always thought so - if ya want to throw rocks at poeser bikes you'll have to look a lot higher on the Admin list to find one and then it would be a battle of wits - and one lacking ammo - lol Got Thump?! Just Blasting on the Dark side! EZ edited by ezblast on March 10, 2004 |
