Last year I picked up an 09 Police XB12XP with the lights, siren, and everything that goes with the kit. Are there people out there who are interested and looking for the police model? |

I should shoot and post some pics - it's the white version. All of the police parts are off the bike and in safe storage at the moment. The bike even came with the Buell passenger back rest gel pad, and large tank bag.. I need to take some time and shine it up and get it all decked out. |

I forgot, I did take a pic when I first got it. It doesn't have any of the police stuff on it, but here it is...

I put the Shinko 005 Advance on the front, and Shinko 009 Raven on the rear. I still have the Continental TKC 80's I took off with I would guess about 50% life left.. |

Is that a Buell windscreen? |

That windscreen is a California Scientific: http://www.calsci.com/motorcycleinfo/Ulyssesprod.h tml I have the Buell touring standard windscreen also, and a taller seat along with the one on the bike in the picture.. |

Is around $7,200 ish a decent price for the bike? I just installed the siren and lights this afternoon, and all the lights work. I couldn't find the wiring, or how to hook up the siren though. The extra's I have with the bike are the TKC's that have about 50% life left, touring and California Scientific windscreens, standard (I believe), and low seats (in picture), Buell large tank bag (zipper needs replaced), Buell passenger gel back rest cover, hard bags in the picture, rox risers, possible some other things also... It does have the stock exhaust and ECU. Miles are around 14,600. |

Hellish big box on the back, but the side cases look good. |

That's the box that came with the Outdoorsman set. Fits two fullface helmets, a VERY nice case. |

How do the Shinkos compare to the TKC80s? |

I had shinko Raven 009 on my bike for about a thousand miles. They suck. Never het warnmed up, and dont grip worth a shit. I low sided five miles from my house because they were still cold. Pulled them right off the bike. |

You know, when I bought the bike it had the TKC's on it, and I switched them out because I thought they might be causing some vibration, but nope, not really, most of the vibes turned out to just be the nature of the beast With the TKC's I did notice a whine at highway speeds, kind of like with tires on the built up 4x4 trucks, but it wasn't bad. |

Shagg - I don't have many corners around here to even try to ride aggressive or anything, but I thought I read somewhere that it takes a while for them to "break in"? |

Jsdugan, I have the exact same bike and the police kit which I purchased later. While I didn't get the siren in the kit, I did look for the wire to power it when I hooked up the lights. I could not find it either but later, I found the stub of a wire in the loom between the engine and frame on the right side. The wire stub was visible when I removed the airbox and the plate under it. It was on the right side between the frame and engine if I recall correctly. I'm guessing they cut the wire when the bike was decommissioned although I did not confirm any voltage or signal in the wire.. Question: Is there a cut out in the right side scoop to allow the mounting of the siren bracket? |

It's got a cop motor. |

The brackets and wiring are all clearing shown in the parts manual. There was no "cop" bike, just a standard Uly with the Whelan lights and siren mounted. Motor was the same as all the others. Somewhere I've got some of the siren and light switches from the controls that I bought . . just to prove they could be order through HD . . someone suggested, like ammo, you need to be a cop. Nonsense. I did learn, the hard way, now to ride the bike with red and blue lens in the lights. |

It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas. What do you say, is it the new Bluesmobile or what? Fix the cigarette lighter. Lighten up Court. (Message edited by big island rider on May 10, 2014) |

Hoover, Thanks for the info. I will go hunting for those wires soon. I think the instructions mentioned that the siren could be used as the regular horn, so I am curious how that would be. And yes, there is a cut out of the side scoop for the siren to fit perfectly. It looks pretty awesome with everything mounted on it. |

Court, Did you mean to NOT ride around with the red and blue lights exposed on the front? |

siren functions as a horn (very loud) unless lights are activated. When lights are activated each push of the horn switch will cycle through different siren types. |

Jsdugan, As Timbobuell stated, you can cycle through the siren modes using the the horn button. If you still have it all hooked up, there is a tiny speaker in the control unit under the seat. Even though my hearing is whacked, I could hear it, Yup, childish but Really Cool. Guess I will have to buy the police kit comfort kit so I can mount the siren.... Yea, I know it's dopey but one day I'm really going to piss off the whole neighborhood and the local PD. Are you sure you want to sell that thing??? Timbobuell, Yea, I want that horn. I expect it sounds like the one on a fire truck as it is going through an intersection. |

You can buy the siren . . there is nothing "Buell specific" about it. I had a 100w Motorola in my car . . but I think the Buell unit was a Whelan. I'd not ride with the lights uncovered . . . penal ties . . for impersonating an officer. . are significant. Don't ask. Daytona . . on a Buell Enforcer on a demo ride. I mostly just caught the dick on a bad day. |
