03 Buell Blast will not start if the handlebars are turned to the right. When they are turned all the way left, the bike will start, and as it is running, it will die if the handlebars are turned too far to the right. This is not a constant problem. Some days I will be able to turn the bars all the way to the right without issue, and some days I can barely put them straight. Any suggestions? |

J, You can wait for one of the more experienced guys to evaluate your post, but I am sure you have a broken wire in the harness right where it passes through at the triple tree. You might be lucky and it will be a loose connection. Either way take the wind screen off and start examining wires and connections. Start the engine and you can manipulate one wire at a time until the engine shuts off. I would start looking at the ignition key are first. Kenny G |

Sounds like Kenny is one of the more experienced people, that's exactly what the problem is. If you dissect that bundle into individual wires, and run each wire through your fingers, you will be able to "feel" the break, as the wire will fold there with little resistance, because the copper is fairly stiff but the insulation is not. That way you don't have to do it with the motor running, and you might find more than one suspect wire. Check for broken wires that go to ground there as well... the break can be hidden under insulation or inside connectors. |
