Hello, I did a search on google and the BW without any luck and was hoping that some of my fellow BWers could provide some pointers on the do's an don'ts of rear brake pad replacement for an S2. I bought the Platniums from Al and also could use some advise on lubing the rear wheel bearings. Thanks in advance! Neil |

To be more specific, the pads that came out of the rear of my S2 had a spring clip type of retainer the new ones from American Sport Bike (Ferodo Platinum) do not. What keeps them in there. Thanks, Neil |

They stay as long as the brake is bled correctly. My replacements never had the clips, nor did the pads I took out of this S2 when I got it. |

This is the Brembo caliper right? The clip is the one on the smaller pad which fits into the piston? You don't need this as the pad is held in place by the plate which hosts the pins on which the caliper slides. If you took the caliper off the disc with the piston depressed sufficiently, the pad would probably fall out, but this isn't a problem on the bike as the pad fits between the piston and disc. |
