I have a 99 X1 and I am trying to get it running 100%.. The previous owner seemed to be a Mickey mouse clubhouse member.. Everything is hacked!! So I have a homemade air filter that is sealed and I have done the WD40 test for leaks around intake. But my exhaust system is the Buell Race system. my muffler was opened and the packing was removed. I tried putting a new packing in but the center tube in muffler is missing. Will running my bike this way hurt or effect performance? If so how severe? I am a diesel mechanic so I understand I am taking away performance due to no back pressure but just wondering how this scenario effects these buells! |

Depending on your current fuel map, the bike may run a little too lean. You should be able to buy the perforated tube separately and properly pack the can. |

I just removed a Daytona twin tech tune fuel management system from bike. after removing this the bike ran a little better around the block. going to hook up ecm spy tonight. I assume the stock non race ecm is set with stock maps right now. |
