Took an evening ride on the R/CR (started life as an 08R but a CR now after getting backed over in the parking lot). Started up, tach ran up to 8K rpms, and never dropped back into the normal range. Running beside my wife to compare, it is 3K high. When we got home, it was still at 3k when shut off. Turned off and one several times and it stepped down to zero and seems to be working normally now. Any ideas what happened and is it a repeatable glitch? |

A guess, a comms error between the ecm and the ic the fact that it zeros and now reads normally points at a running soft error of some kind. I had a low voltage start incident some time back and my engine temp blanked after start up I had to shut down and re-start to clear it |

If the tach is working but just reading high, bike is running fine? it might be that the needle has slipped or is slipping on the little shaft that rotates it. Mine was reading low. A tiny little drop of super glue and done. |
