looking for opinions on this... if i stay with the XB-R upper/bars, i was thinking about using a sportster visor/lid.... To me it gives a move finished look and fills in the weird shaped area between the bars. Also think it gives a little ducati or walan look. Could leave black (upper/bars will also be black) or could paint body color. what are you thoughts? does it look out of place? funny? or good? I can also mill an opening in the top to house my motogadget miniscope speed so it flush mounted in this housing.

I don't think the visor looks out of place. I do however think a brake master cylinder reservoir from a newer Sportster might blend a little better. Great looking bike. |

I have a very similar setup on my x1 but I,m having the risers shaved on my triple and making a aluminum tank so I can tuck my vortex bars in nice and tight. I do like the sporty visor it makes it look clean/finished. with using the xb triples how is the squish with the stock peg location i'm getting annoyed with mine and my clipons are above the triple right now. |

Get rid of the BIG black master cylinder. Replace it with a tube and a billet bung. Remove the right side bar end mirror. Get rid of those girly grips. Replace with manly Renthal grey. The handlebar switch gear is too big. Minimalise with aftermarket specials. Fit a quick action throttle. Your front indicators don't suit the bike, but may do if you have a bikini fairing. (I have the same indicators and consider they suit mine because of the bikini fairing) I like your cam cover, and how you contrasted it by not going black. I like your drive pulley. The twin tube rear is impressive. I like that you paid attention to detail and put a slight bend in the bottom support tube. Your bike is full of great details. Even down to the colour choice. Where's the exhaust? Are you up to something special? I'd like to see it with a lot of tube on show with lots of bends and curves taking up the lines and spaces, and not necessarily with a muffler either. Yes it would suit a bikini fairing. Likely a Buell one at that. Does it look good without one. Yes it does. I could go on. It's a talking point Buell to say the least Rocket in England |

Not particularly fond of the sportster visor. Didn't like it on my Sportster, don't like it on your bike. I do however LOVE the front pulley. I'm guessing that's another prototype piece. I think a very short stock visor would look better myself. |

Ross- thanks.. the pulley on the bike is a prototype, but i started cutting chips on the real one friday night- hope to finish it up this week, and then move onto the pulley guard. Then i need to get going on the rearsets- these are in design phase now. (Message edited by purpony on March 31, 2014) |

Rocket- Exhaust is out getting ceramic coated. The first round the coaters oven died which had an impact on the cure of the coating and the first start up it bubbled. But they told me this upfront and redoing it for free. This allowed me to installed a front o2 bung before sending it back to be recoated. I spoke with the tuner i will be using this season and he suggested this so we can match tune both cylinders with o2 sensors. |

Its just a factory pulley... 27 or 29. The part im making is a cover. Maybe over the summer ill make an aluminum pulley but not right now. |

The sportster thing looks good. Not as good as stock fairing, although realize that the stock fairing would look goofy with those bars.I also believe that those grips need to go, along with the turn signals |

Well, I might be in the minority here but I sort of like the turn signals. Also, what's so bad about the grips? I sort of like those too... Finally, what's up with that long hose off the shock? Couldn't the oil reservoir be moved closer to the shock? It just looks way too exposed... |

I like the turn signals too. I HAVE THEM ON MINE. I just think they look better near a bikini fairing. They're not micro after all, and take up the view more without a fairing there. Thus more 'ear' like in appearance. It's why I don't like the look of a pair of bar end mirrors either. One is cool. Both is a bit 'Mickey Mouse'. The grips are just too fancy for me. They're more show than go, and this Buell smacks of MORE GO and deserves the 'fit for purpose' me thinks. Rocket in England |
