I'm retiring this year and my mean financial advisor seems to think I need to sale a motorcycle or two. I have a 1999 X1 Lightning Carbon Fiber Extreme (CFE) Factory Limited Edition (#173 of 250) which I bought new in July 1999. It is in perfect original condition. The blue weave thread carbon fiber is flawless. It has always been covered in my garage unless I was riding it. I did install a Corbin seat after a few hundred miles and have the original seat available. All recalls were completed. I'm having new tires installed this weekend (tires wouldn't pass NC state inspection). The bike has less than 6300 miles. I only put a few miles on it a month. I ride my Goldwing to work and my '01 ZX-12R is my weekend ride. I had to replace the voltage regulator. Other than that the bike has not had any issues. I saw a CFE sold on eBay for $6K and was not all original and didn't appear to be in as good of a condition. I have some old pics available on: http://www.barbarian-cbx.com/id73.htm Honestly, I might just decide to keep it as a collectable because it is in like new condition and there aren't many left, especially in this condition. Did I say, this bike looks in the same, or better, condition that it did the day I bought it? Having typed all this, I guess I'm trying to get a feel what I could get for this bike. If you are seriously interested in acquiring this bike, please email me with an offer. Email for current pics. The bike is located in Matthews, NC 28105. It has insurance and after this Saturday it'll have a current state inspection. However, the license expired March 15. I'll apply Saturday after getting the NC inspection for a 2015 tag sticker. Sorry for being wordy. Thanks, Mark mlsanger@gmail.com (Message edited by X1carbon on March 25, 2014) |

I received a few emails. Most were low balling. One was very meaningful. It went into very valid reasons to keep my Buell (Thanks Buck). I've decided to keep it and keep it in it's showroom condition. Thanks, Mark |

Well, I'm retired now and financial advisor wants me to sell at least one of my bikes. I put a few miles a year on my Buell just to keep in in great shape. To pacify her, I'm listing it here. Please see my website for recent pics I took. http://www.barbarian-cbx.com/id132.htm I just had installed new tires and new battery. Mileage is still less than 6300 miles. Again, it won't break my heart if it doesn't sell. I think $11,999 is a fair price. So let's go from there. mlsanger@gmail.com |

Oh man, I have #095. It has around 65,000 miles as its my daily commuter and it shows every single one. The bike is being run ragged at this point, I do everything I can to keep it going but it will soon be beyond repair. Seeing your bike in that condition is like a completely different creature. So rare. It must be preserved, it has to be. |

I really would like a collector to buy it. The last thing I want is for someone to buy it and hack it up with mods. I just keep it covered in my garage and ride it a few miles every so often to keep the seals wet and parts lubed. It starts right up. It looks great in the sun, the blue carbon fiber weave that is. Thanks for you post. |
