ok so where's everyone getting their stators when they need replaced? I'm back in the game again, buying an 09 cr. first off i'll be getting the ebr rotor. but while I'm in there I'm thinking I might find a burnt up stator, or one on it's last leg...so what's going on these days? getting them rewound? buying new from h.d.(spit)? last I knew they were about $400 it looks like asb doesn't have them and ebr doesn't? just want to get this bike squared away so I can ride it for the next forever |

I like his idea of mounting the VR under the tail a LOT. The underseat area on a stock 1125 gets seriously freaking hot. |

If youre getting the ebr rotor. They have a 45 day time limit on core return. Fyi. Im now the proud owner of a $450 stator. Thats what happens when you rat hole parts i guess. Now that i see what they did to the stator ill probably take mine to work and drill it then sell the one they sent me to get some of my money out of it. |

Got mine through Rick's Motorsports and love it. So far, it's charging great in combination with the EBR rotor. Kris |

FYI Rick's is now sourcing his stators from Taiwan. So does that mean that the failed '09 stator that I removed from my CR a few weeks back is of little to no value for a rewind core? Or is it just another piece to hang on the wall as a reminder of H-D's lack of interest in fixing known problems? 1313 |

You could rewind it or take it to a shop locally to have it rewound but make sure you request High Temp wire. |

I think Ricks still rewinds but you have to do all that over the phone. The new stator is only about $225. I just went that route cause its faster so I felt it was worth the extra $50 bucks. Just do that and the oiling rotor and you should be good. All together like 400 after core. |

that sounds like a plan! thanks for all the input. just picked up the bike & rode for two days now. voltage sits around 14.1 cruising & 13 at extended idle. think she's in good shape at the moment. however the clutch is leaking pretty good & front tire is shot... the stator upgrade will have to wait a month or so, just ordered the ebr race slave cyl kit |
