My 2009 XB12XT died while riding. The battery had been going bad so I replaced it. Now the engine turns over but does not fire. Any ideas? Thanks for the help. |

Check the relays? Fuses? Battery cables and ground connection? ECM for cracks? Voltage regulator? |

Not the ECM--where would I see cracks? |

Some older XT's had the ecm/seat contact and would crack the ecm. |

When you say fire does that mean you have checked for and found no spark? |

My 2009 XB12XT Ulysses was doing the same thing. Got a new EBR ECM and relocated it away from the seat and shes been running fine. |

pull the plugs look and see if you fouled them {black}.The ecm AFV might need to be reset. But lets check the plugs first. |

I've had a starting coil go bad on me while riding, same thing it would crank but not start. I'd give a look at that. To start a bike you need fuel compression and spark. |
