What is the switch on the clutch used for? I would like to upgrade to brembo or accossato and they dont have a switch?

So you can't start it in gear. I can't remember whether if you can disconnect and start in neutral with factory harness. I know it's not supported with race harness, so clutch MC doesn't matter. You could unplug it and see if you can start the bike in neutral. If so, you're good with aftermarket MC.

You don't need the switch to start the bike in neutral

How does the switch know its in gear? I never pull the clutch when i start the bike in neutral.

The tranny neutral switch tells the bike if it is in neutral or not. If not in neutral, then the clutch lever switch prevents you from starting the bike unless the clutch lever is pulled in.

The clutch switch raises the idle speed when the bike is in gear with the clutch out which reduces engine breaking with throttle closed.

Get rid of the clutch switch.
