I have an 01 blast, i took the carb off to clean it for the upcoming season, and i found that my hard start issue may be due to the fact my auto enricher had broken. so i cannot find one to replace it.. does anyone know of where i can get one or if there is a manual choke conversion i can do? | ||

You know what ErikO is going to ask (about cleaning the carb) :-) that being said, I think I saw a thread on this site with a manual choke conversion documented with pictures...hopefully EZ or Erik will have the link to it. | ||

I got a carb off ebay for a Vtwin. I swapped the jets and fuel bowls and took off the accelerator pump. Unfortunately I have not got it running because I have a transmission issue to fix. | ||

Dakatak: you'll also need to swap slide springs. The Blast spring is a preferred twin performance item!! | ||

and while the fact is the carb wasnt that dirty, yes but if i had not taken it apart i would not have found the issue, i am a ASE tech and while i understand that it is not usually a grand idea to take this card apart, if you have common sense its not that hard to understand. | ||

The CV carb is very simple. It's just a fact that it (and carbs in general) rarely ever needs "a good cleaning", rarely ever needs to be completely taken apart to be repaired or diagnosed and here's the BIGGEST REASON FOR NOT TAKING IT APART (besides being unnecessary): it very often leads to creating problems that didn't exist to begin with. I wish I had a dollar for every problem that began with "I took my carb apart"! I'll keep up with the warning because if anyone ever says "take the carb apart and give it a good cleaning" that translates to exactly "I have no idea what's wrong with your bike and I'm hoping that solves the problem". Which is the same as disassembling and reassembling and engine hoping it fixes a problem! | ||

Why don't you just buy a new auto-enricher from someone like Latus H-D? |
