Interesting to look at the trap speeds between pole sitter Hayden (192.061) and Cory's (192.967). Also Cory actually had the best 2nd best time in the S2 portion of the track. Most of the time being lost in in S1. Looks very promising! |

Jscott- I noticed that too. Cory's peak trap speed wasn't as fast as the fastest (I saw one over 204 MPH) but it seems to me the bike is clearly competitive in that area now. Matt- You'd think the EBR's should be up there with the KTM, but then again that's the same rider and team for the third year with that bike while both of these teams are new combinations. |

Did anybody watch the Flat Track races on Fanschoice.tv? They had live cameras with a great announcer. That's what would work better for the Daytona road races IMHO. |

OK - I take what I said about fanschoice.tv back - must have just been using static cameras for practice and qualifying. SuperSport race is on now and it's an actual production! Commentators and all. |

Cory's text to me about his last lap battle for 7th. Didn't quite have the legs to the stripe. I led outta the chicane but I felt like I had to... |

Good luck to Cory and Larry tomorrow. It's gonna be gratifying to see them dicing with the leaders when they find the right setup and exploit it in anger. |

Watched Cory's race live. They sure do sound good. The tech said the engine blew close to the finish line Larry had a 10 second penalty. Wish they well going forward. Nice to see Danny win the 200 on the Triumph... I watched the 200 on fanschoice.tv and the coverage was good, multiple camera angles, etc., and commentary and paddock interviews were good. But the racing was great. Eslick rode a great race and ended up alone at the end. He didn't make any mistakes and attrition took the others in the lead group. |

Did anybody else try and watch the race on a mobile device at fanschoice.tv? I tried on my RAZR HD (Verizon 4G) and it never loaded up. All I got was the download spiral that kept spiraling. I ended up watching a broken up broadcast on my old laptop...admittedly an issue due to the age and capacity of the laptop. No commercials and good coverage, and I want to be ready for the next round. |

My ipad did just fine, but I was on a good wifi network. I would suspect that a 4G network would not keep up and the a amount of data would be very costly. |

I have WiFi as well, but via DSL. I tried both (isolated WiFi and 4G separately) but I'm guessing my bandwidth just isn't capable of keeping up. |

Anyone know if Fanschoice.tv has any plans to post recorded broadcasts? I was in Daytona, but wasn't able to make it to the races. Wouldn't mind seeing a recorded broadcast. |

Aeholton: Yes, they're currently working on a rebroadcast some how. Not sure if it will be a youtube deal or if it will be like an On-demand type of thing. They're still working it out. This entire Fanschoice deal was obviously a knee jerk reaction to all of the nasty FB stuff posted on every post they made for the last several months. |

Found these pictures and also uploaded a few seconds of Larry Pegram clowning, after messing up an autograph. Also a video scanning the pit, revealing the crowd at the EBR tent being the largest draw of people. I got the video just as the crowd was building, WOW what a great turn out. Cory and Larry were gracious beyond any expectation, pure class. The videos are on YouTube below.

Cycle News has a good article on the races: http://cyclenews.uberflip.com/i/279052 Interesting quotes from Larry Pegram; his problems seem to echo EBR's first performance in WSBK:

The scariest part of the videos is the absence of . . . well . . people. While there are "more" folks at the EBR tent . . . . it looks like many of the others are vacant. Doesn't bode well when the Daytona 200 has devolved to this. |

^ For you who don't Facebook, mystery of Larry's low power solved and other info:
quote:Back from Daytona. Tons of people came by our truck outside to see the new RX bikes. Inside, Cory on the #13 AMSOIL/Hero bike took two 9th places. In both races he was in a three way battle for 7-9th, but got nipped in the first by drafting at the line. In the second race the bike got bumped into a lower gear two laps from the end, hitting about 13,000 RPM for a second, and bending a valve. It put the bike down on power for the last few laps, but it just made it to the end. Really a solid finish for a near stock bike and a brand new team. Larry on the #72 Foremost Insurance bike was battling some issues with being down on power, and a loose ground wire that took him out of the first race. In the second race he finished but still down on power. Afterwards we found out they had been adding an extra quart of oil thinking that might be safer for the rigors of Daytona, but in checking on the dyno after the race, it cost 20 HP! Just new team learnings. So Larry will be in much better shape for the next race!

Who is Larry's crew chief? You put an extra quart!!! in a motorcycle on a hunch and don't think that excessive pressure can be the cause of your performance loss? This is the best and brightest we have to represent EBR on the national scene? |

^ Maybe that's standard practice on inline 4's or something? It does seem like a pretty bone-headed thing to do, especially when you had factory guys nearby that you could have asked. |

It's not making excessive pressure, the 1190 motor is obviously a wet sump system if adding a quart kills that much HP. It is a wet sump system right? |

^ Not unless they changed drastically from the 1125. The 1125 is a dry sump engine with the oil reservoir built into the engine cases. Oil is not retained in a sump under the crankshaft, but in a separate "compartment". I'm pretty sure the 1190 still uses this design. I'd imagine one quart extra would be enough to overload the reservoir and prevent all the oil from being scavenged from the crankcases. |
