Josh Hayes' excellent AMA Pro situation summary: ".....In an age of information it’s amazing at how little we have in the AMA [Pro] paddock..... .....I don’t understand why it is where it is or how it got to where it is. As much as I think I do, every time I think I do I find out there’s more to it than I think there is. “It’s difficult when my friends who want to follow my racing at home ask me how and I don’t know how to tell them to follow my racing. I don’t know if it’s on television. I don’t know if there’s live streaming [on the Internet], and if it is I don’t know what kind of live streaming it is. I don’t know if it’s a GoPro [video camera] sitting in a corner or if there’s actually a cameraman out there with a good camera angle watching us go around the racetrack”....." Jake's running SB on a Gixxer1k how about this news? - moar on Danny: Eslick to race in AMA Pro Harley-Davidson class at Daytona and selected British 1000cc Superstock rounds ".....The countdown is on to the start of the 2014 MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch this Easter weekend (18/19/20/21 April)..... .....Eslick said: "Excited...that's about the only way I can describe how I feel about going to race within BSB. With our series having a big break between races it creates the opportunity for me to go slide with some of the best riders on the planet! It will be a huge challenge learning a new bike and team in a very short period of time. I have great confidence in the ILR program and look forward to a great experience." Ian Lougher [real roads & Isle of Man veteran], ILR Team Manager, concluded: "We welcome Danny to the ILR Kawasaki team and are excited by what we can achieve together. He is young and exceptionally talented, and this is a great opportunity for him to show what he can achieve on the ZX-10R Ninja, in what is probably the closest and fiercely fought support championship within the BSB paddock. I am personally very much looking forward to working with Danny at two planned pre-season tests, before moving on to Brands Hatch for the first round..... .....Additionally, former AMA Pro SuperBike superstar and the AMA Pro Vance & Hines Harley Davidson Series' first-ever champ, Danny Eslick (No. 69 Ruthless Racing Harley-Davidson XR1200) will be gunning for victory this weekend as brings his thrilling style back to the class once again....." Jake Holden did not run at all today, on Ducati or Suzuki, he has history of racing for small teams that fold . He might be better off racing in the 3 races John Ulrich put together on West coast, won at Fontana, and at Sanoma in 2008,and won the 1st Miller clasic in 2009 at WSBK event. |

We need Danny back on an EBR! I wonder what it would take to make that happen. |

Agree whole heartedly about Danny and EBR. He had a tough first year with the 1190, but he became one with that 1125. |

You can post higher res pics by opening an account at a free site like photobucket and uploading the pics there. Then link to the pics from Badweb rather than hosting them here. That allows much larger pics to be posted. |

FYI, the SCAB (So Cal Area Buellers) have the best camping spot on the track for the WSBK/AMA even at Laguna Seca this year. We've had great spots for MotoGp in years past, but we snagged the two best spots on the track for WSBK in the "inaugural" (at least for recent years) event in September of last year, and they grandfathered in for this year. We have the corner Corkscrew View spots 557L and 558L, here:
So if you're planning on being at Laguna Seca to see the EBRs run in both WSBK AND AMA superbike, stop on by! Al |

Good to hear that Danny Eslick will be running in BSB Superstock this year (Every cloud haas a silver linig after all). It will be interesting to see how he gets on at new circuits and on a new bike. He certainly has a very experienced mentor in Ian Lougher though, so I hope he settles in well. BSB is becoming the new home for AMA riders I think |

I don't know if anyone has had a chance to take a look at the live streaming coverage of the qualifying and practices on http://www.fanschoice.tv/watch-live?pod=pod_01, but if the races are covered the same way as the qualifying is, we might as well just watch the timing board screens. Its! Looks like they mounted 3 iphones and you can select which feed you wish to "see?". You can't make out the which bikes are which and the (I use the term loosely,) cameras are fixed. Sound is good though. |

OK - I take what I said about fanschoice.tv back - must have just been using static cameras for practice and qualifying. SuperSport race is on now and it's an actual production! Commentators and all. |

Is it OUR connection here at American Sport Bike, or is the transmission full of drops for others watching? The coverage (i.e., cameras, announcing, etc) looked good on the supersport race, but the start/stop of the feed was unwatchable here at work. |

oh, just stop! well, I give credit where credit's due: Yosh's Martin Cardenas clearly ran off track early on & worked his way back up to 12th the timing screens showed that, plus: Cory's best 1:40:24 Martin's best 1:38:637 Roger's best was in the high 37s..... Note to Larry: bypass the sidestand switch! j/k. I know, I know - sidestand is already bypassed at the factory... completely. j/k again. Seriously, good showing in practice & qualifying. Go get 'em. Love that big V-twin growl! Go EBR! |

The racing was great. Hung out in the garage a bit, got autographs from Larry and Cory, and a handshake from Erik. He was absolutely beaming. The lines at the EBR pit for fan walk were longer than any other. The V-twins sounded awesome flat out in turn 3. The EBRs had a healthy snarl and the KTM was absolutely booming. Those guys have been whittling away and making progress. And Filmore comes across as a great team rep as well as a good rider. |
