Hootowl: that what i am thinking as well. when i connected it up the bike didnt start but it runs fine disconnected. i think i have to try and hook it up like it was before.m is there any way to bypass it? or is there a protocol to follow if you disconnect it? Jayvee: i see what your saying about the upswept tail fad. honestly there are a bunch i hate as well. mine does look higher because of the rear stand. it also might look higher because its quite a bit shorter than stock. its not that bad in person. its about the same height as my buddies monster 796. |

You're doing a fine job. There might be an extra tube or two in there but I won't hold it against ya. |

The subframe tubes need to run as parallel as possible to the lower triangle tube and the top tube under the tank. The subframe and support need angles introducing, as all the tubes making the frame have angles. This way the subframe appears as part of the frame and not a 'detached' section. My very crude attempt to show what I mean.

I see what your saying rocket. I like more of an upswept look tho. If I were to single seat it then I would have gone that route. I do a little 2up tho. |

Have you considered the height of your 'two up' when they're in the saddle? I am no fan of these ridiculous high up rear ends. They look dumb and out of place on a motorcycle. Sorry but I just don't get it. Rather like I don't get mens fashion wearing their fecking underpants exposed.
Motorcycle silly seats are the equivalent of Bieber's exposed skiddies.

I still say we should hold judgement till we see it off the rear stand. The rear is on a stand while the front isn't, and the stand pushes the rear up nearly as much as the difference between Rocket's last drawing and the ground. Once it's sitting flat, I think it will look a bit closer to Rocket's drawing. |

rocket that post is funny lol. And that suzuki is hideous. As far as the 2up height its shouldnt be any higher than a standard ducati or crotch rocket. I finished painting the frame and wrapping the seat last night i should have pics up tonight if i can. if not it will have to be sunday. |

The BAS, I believe, has to be oriented correctly, or it will tell the ECM that the bike has tipped over, and kill the ignition. The bike will run without it, but will turn on the check engine light. Try zip tying it to something while keeping it upright, as it is in the original tail. |

i was able to make a mount so it was vertical again. was able to start the bike without any check engine lights. thanks. |

So the whole ass in the air look emerged as a trend of trying to emulate stunt riders who had crashed their bikes doing wheelies? If your tail sticks up, you're a badass wheelie riding mofo? Wow. Makes sense though. |

im not sure how the whole thing started. i guess the stunt thing makes sense. i can assure you that is not the reason i am doing it lol. I just think the short tail gives the bike a more muscle type look. like the monsters and the xb's. I just wanted something different. |

ok so here it is. please dont mind the wrinkles on the seat, i still have to heat gun them out a little bit. the pics make it seem more upswept for some reason but i dont care i like it. its very comfortable. the little white strip under the seat is the new tail light. its a strip of leds with the blinkers integrated in there as well. here you can see the under tail i made and the tail light.

I just realized why I think it looks a bit off. See the crease in the tank just behind the word "Buell"? That's the line the tail section should match. It would still be higher than stock, and would achieve the look you're after, but I think it would match the bike better. Still though, great job. Love the tube tail sections. |

Like a mate of mine says of these styles. It's like having a skateboard rammed up your arse. Not for me. Just spoils a good bike. Wouldn't think so if the effort looked like it was 'original' or 'could have been', and it's the 'could have been' which for me is the important thing that makes it work or fail from an aesthetic design principle. Carry on. As you were! Rocket in England |

I say whatever. It looks good to me. I think the point is you made it yourself. You didn't go on some website and by it from someone eles. It is your own creation. I think that's the best part of it. |
