I have had nothing but problems with this particular Blast. I am slowly fixing them one at a time! I posted previously about the bike not starting and once I finally got it running, it would die with throttle. SO, a new coupler (das Boot) and it starts and runs every time! New problem. I ran some seafoam through it after draining the little fuel left in it and filling it back up. I got as far as the gas station 1/2 mile away and it started flooding. Pulled the filter cover and see that the Venturi ring and gasket are completely broken, not that I think that contributed to the problem. As I started it and gave it throttle, I noticed A LOT of fuel spraying into the carb. Is this normal? | ||

Also, I am noticing that there is a small fuel leak coming out of the place where the petcock enters the tank. | ||

Loose screw for the petcock, and some fuel spray back is common, but if a lot, check float alignment. EZ | ||

I have tightened the two screws holding the petcock down as tight as I can. Anymore and I'm afraid of breaking something. The spray seems like a lot to me, because I hadn't ever noticed this before. Not sure. I had to wipe everything down and let it dry then it started up. Luckily it got me back home. | ||

Any more leaking? A lot of spray happens from riding at 5000+ rpms for a significant period - as on fast moving freeway traffic. If so and common don't forget to check your oil every other day as well also. EZ | ||

It is still leaking. Not too bad, just a steady drip. But enough to lose about 1/8 gallon a day. Trying to catch it but not sure about using it. The spray was at idle with just a little throttle. | ||

So after riding for about 2 miles the other day and leaving it parked yesterday, I can't get it started today. Thinking maybe spark issues. The jet needle seems to be really loose inside. I wonder if that could be an issue with the extra spray. | ||

You said that the gasket was blown on the venturi ring on the carb? Could a piece of gasket be blocking the hole that lets air in over the slide valve diaphragm? | ||

The slide seems to working fine and I get plenty of suction when giving throttle. I am pretty sure I got all of the pieces of the gasket and the venture ring, just left them off completely. Do you have any suggestions? Other than tearing the carb apart (DON'T HAVE TO TELL ME ERIK). | ||

Sounds like it may need a float adjustment, no leaking from the petcock though - right? EZ | ||

The leak is coming where the petcock enters the gas tank. Seems to be coming from the bolt holes. Thinking about just replacing the tank all together. Not really sure how to adjust the float. I guess I should just take the carb apart and give it a good cleaning. LOL | ||

I would try some gasoline resistant gasket sealer - sold in auto parts store. And tighten screws. EZ |
