That's not so bad. I paid less than that for my '09 but it has 21K on it. I just got back from a 40 mile jaunt up the Colorado River Road with the wife riding pillion. This is her first ride on the Uly so I held my breath for a bit. Until I heard her yell "Yeehah!!!" She approves. So it was priced right in my opinion... |

Including the hard luggage, for an 08 (new oiling system) with only 5k miles? That isn't a bad deal. Figure $6000 for the bike (good deal) and $800 for the luggage (good deal). |

$5900 a couple weeks ago for my new to me '08 with 16K on the clock. Full luggage, comfort kit, tall windshield, and a brand new battery. I felt like it was a fair deal for both of us. Seems to have been treated well by previous owners. |

10,000 miles is worth $1000+ easy. That assumes a $10,000 bike will go 100,000 miles (which is actually pretty optimistic). So your two prices pretty much line up. |

Those numbers sound about right. My 10 bike, in 2011, was 15 months old, 2600 miles, one owner, side cases, FST, Piper air filter, mint/ showroom condition, HD warranty and 8700 USD (present exchange rates) from a BMW bike dealer. My 06, in 2007, bike was about the same money/ numbers but privately purchased so the dealer price was very good as you have some legal backup for any problems. In the UK a 06 Uly with 20k miles is about 5800 USD right now. The depreciation on my 06 bike would have been about 360 USD per year which is close, if not better, than a BMW bike and is MUCH, MUCH better than any Jap bike I have had. The latter Ulys, in the UK, are going for about 7000 USD which is about the right money. The thing is that because of the very high build quality of a Uly you can buy even a 05 bike and it will, unless very badly abused, still be in very good condition. NOT something that is going to happen unless you buy a high end BMW or Honda, etc. What you pay for a bike is down to the buyer? Yes you can buy cheap but you may find it is not cheap if it needs tires, chain set, new shock, fork rebuild, battery, brake pads, rotors, etc. Or if you need to travel 200 miles to collect the bike as well and then find it is rubbish. Buying a used bike is always a risk no matter how good you are at doing it. And for the love of "WHOEVER" never ever put up an ad for your bike with the VIN number (see first post for E-Bay) or the bikes plate. This is a joy for people who clone bikes and you may as well tell them your bank account number at the same time. |

Paid almost $7k for my '07 Uly last year...but it only had 3 miles on it (no, I'm not missing a "k" after the 3). The owner of the dealership bought it in '07 and put it in storage (inside his shop) along with a couple Harleys. Last year, he pulled them all out of storage and put them up for sell. I could have gotten a better deal on a used bike with 5k+ miles on it, but I was willing to pay a little more for basically a brand new bike (if you can consider a 6 year old bike new). |

I paid $4500 for my 09, all the bags, two sets of "tins", highway bars, auxiliary lighting and XP bags. Have to agree with everyone here, these are GREAT motorcycles and they are way undervalued right now. |

Got my '06 last year with only 5000 miles and full bags (except trunk) for $3800. VERY happy with it - puts a massive smile on my face every time I twist the throttle. |

You are the General! I had to give 6200. (gladly) last summer w/15k, full set up XT.. MadStad, 2 seats, brake lights in trunk, race ECU, etc. bonus for me was the PO bought the 7 year service contract which transfer d to me. good till July 2016, $50. deductible and full compliment rental car/hotel if I break down on the road.. I'm very pleased, I got her up to 19,xxx before winter struck. Will need a 20k service soon.. I've always done my own service on my Guzzi's and could w/the Uly but i might seek out a devoted Buell guy at Wild Harley this spring and see if I can get intake seals covered under the contract.

Ramman, that one belongs in a museum! Must be the lowest mileage Uly in existence. Although, probably more fun to ride than to look at. |

Thanks guys, obviously very happy with the deal I got. Although initially I was really holding out for an 08+ after reading about all the upgrades, but when my 06 came along at $3800 with bags I lunged. Since then I've come to realize the 06 is perfect for me, I don't feel like I've missed out on anything by not getting the newer bike. Although I do wish I had a 2010 three bearing rear wheel as a preventative measure. |

Hey Fotoguzzi, I would think twice about taking my Uly into Wild Prairie HD. I made that mistake once and they totally messed up my bike(long story). And then they wouldn't honor their screw up. I'll never bring anything over there again. Parts only. |

If there is a good buell mechanic, I don't know where they are. I've heard the guys in St. Cloud are good. If I had to guess, I'd go with St. Paul HD out on 94. Though they own Wild Prairie HD, the more experienced mechanics seemed to have stayed in St. Paul. I would trust them more. At Wild Prairie HD I had some kid working on my bike cause the other guys didn't want to go near the Buell. Good Luck |

"If there is a good buell mechanic, I don't know where they are". Well put it this way the motor is a HD unit and is as old as stone so you should be able to find someone to deal with that one. The rest of the mechanical stuff is easy enough for any decent bike mechanic. The only issue is the electrics which might need someone who knows the bike for the engine running part. The other electrical parts should be no problem to a bike tech IE Charging issues, etc. It is normal/ basic stuff. Mind you many HD techs could not fix issues so what does that tell you. |

Doesn't help you as he is a billion miles away, but my mechanic has a Buell painted on the side of his building. |

Foto, Come visit the Crisis Center. The proprietor may know a thing or two about Buell's.... I'm closer than St. Cloud. I have better tunes too... You might have to put up with a barkey wiener dog though... Actually I have to do intakes on my 06 Uly too. Put it off last year but it needs to be done.. Still has the originals in it.. Brad |

I will, we spoke last fall.. I was just thinking of making use of the warranty but it is probably a better idea to do it myself with your supervision or have you do it. I'd bring my dog to meet yours but she can't fit on back. she wants me to get a sidecar bike.. has anyone put a trailer hitch on a UlY? |
