Then they were not "fouled". Best bet is to get ECM-Spy and see what bike is doing. |

I did... made myself a cable and checked out what I could. Even posted screen cap of spy.
Only things of note were low voltage (had only run for a minute after prolonged period with ignition on and engine off) and slightly low AFV. |

At this point the bike is still cold. The AFV runs from about 80 to 120 and will change due to conditions. You are at sea level as I am and it should be, like mine, around 100. The battery charging volts are wrong and should be more than 13.5 volts with the bike running. |

So look at engine temp---you are warmed up, and correction is still at 102.9 and AFV is WAY WAY down at 83.5!!! That means the ECU is pulling 16.5% fuel EVERYWHERE!!!It is a wonder bike runs at all.LEAN! This is exactly the problem I was seeing on the other EBR ecus that came through.Too much cold start enrichment still being added when bike is warm enough to go into "learn" ,Skews the AFV every time. Take a look at the cold start tables in a stock map and compare.I went round and round with the tech guy at EBR about this. |

Well... my battery is now completely done. I'll shop around for a new one while the 2+ feet of snow we have here is melting. Maybe proper voltages would help things!?! I really hope it's not stator/regulator related. The bike's got me so frustrated I don't want to spend any more $$ on it than I have to! Any Canadians find a decent price for a good replacement battery anywhere? |

The other thing I round odd about the ECM-SPY data is that the ambient temp was around 10c that night... and the sensor was reporting +31. Someone told me that this wouldn't change much with regards to fueling. |

Hold hard there Dude. First charge the battery off the bike. If it holds around 12.8v overnight off the bike it may be fine and no need to buy another yet. Then check the bikes charge rate. 12.66 v is no good. Check the stator output first. |

"The other thing I round odd about the ECM-SPY data is that the ambient temp was around 10c that night... and the sensor was reporting +31. A standing XB at idle bike will see a hotter temp than ambient but not as much as 20 C plus. Yes the bike will still run but not at its best. I had the same with my 10 bike it was reading 48C and only 20C. I changed out the IAT sensor and smooth as silk now. The fact is that many would not know how the bike should run but if it does you would think it is another machine. |

The battery was getting weak at the end of last season (would barely start the bike at 5c after having been on tender all night). At this point it has been on tender for most of the winter and it barely makes the solenoid click... I'd say it's safe to say it's done. |
