Some of the article commenters were exhibiting negative thinking.

I wonder how many of the negative commentators have actually ridden a Buell. I do not understand the logic of denigrating the EBR effort. Why would they not want an American success story. Their understanding and real knowledge of Buell's seem to be misguided.

Ignore the negative ..... It's a pox

Follow the positive .... Be part of it and be the best you can

Negative is cheap. Positive is hard work and worth every drop of sweat.

I'm constantly surprised at the misinformation that surrounds everything Buell/HD/EBR-related...there's a poster claiming his 1971 Norton Commando is a better, more-capable machine than a Uly, fa crissakes, not to mention the folks who think EBR is still using Sportster engines, or that Rotax is actually a BMW-owned company.

Some of them (most, actually) still think dude's name is Eric Buell.

That's enough right there for me to keep saving my pennies to buy an RX for myself...damn the uninformed and the naysayers. If the bike sucks, I won't continue to support the manufacturer. Same thing with the customer service. I'm willing to bet the majority of my yearly mortgage payment amount that this bike will be exactly what I want.

I prefer to follow the thinking that has thus far yielded innovative actual tangible results despite a hostile environment as opposed to often misinformed conjecture that results in nothing save the release of hot air. GO EBR!

As much as I like Nortons I'm afraid that the XBs were just slightly better bikes...

Assuming you mean current Nortons that's one hell of a compliment given how fantastic the modern hand built Nortons are.

Norton are making a handful of Domiracers specifically for track day use, but can be made road legal at cost. They're not compatible as road legal production machines but can pass single vehicle approval (SVA) tests if individuals want their bike to be road legal.

Nortons goal continues to be to manufacture to the highest quality as much in house as possible. This whilst bringing low volume handbuilt production bikes to market as well as campaigning their SG2 in Superbike and Senior TT's this year. Rumours too of racing in Moto GP are still well alive.

The Domiracer is fantastic up close. The detail is stunning, but then they've made a commitment to make a lot of CNC stuff in house.

I've visited two shows where they build the bike from scratch during show week. There are guys there machining stuff up on their stand, all for you to see.

When you look at the hugger mounts, they're all hand made in house. This attention to build, quality, and detail is all over the bike.

Having watched just the other day the Buell training video, I was stunned to see how much Buell were building in house themselves. We should think ourselves fortunate when we look at bikes like the Norton and EBR. I see things through fresh eyes these days. Especially with Buell, as unlike Norton, Buell were bringing bikes to market that were not beyond the grasp of anyone on a regular rather than wealthy income.

I was looking at the EBR website earlier. In particular the 1190. The detail on that bike is stunning. Whilst Norton and EBR approach their goals from different perspectives, I can see a great deal of similarities at least in the bikes. Garner is intentionally building bikes that look like handbuilt low volume high end bespoke designs. Buell is building the same, but for much wider production scales. Norton will never be inexpensive, but I see a future where EBR's will be affordable to more rather than a few.

I rode my 1973 Norton Interstate for over 30 years and then sold it for twice what I paid for it when I bought it new.

I must admit that we rebuilt it 5 or 6 times during the period that I owned it.

When I sold it I was still able to obtain parts for it from the Norton Owners Club in Britain.

I had a 750 Atlas for a couple of years. Ex race bike that had a lot of power. I hate to say it but the party that got it from me probably chopped it.

To be fair, they're not silly expensive UK priced, but then you appear to be paying for quality rather than amount of components so to speak.

I suspect in thirty years riding you might build the current ones a s many times Kenny!
