Why would a top class race team spend thousands of dollars just to race at 5 poorly covered and attended meetings per year? If I was running or sponsoring a team I'd want more for my money than DMG are offering at the moment. Where do teams who are not aboe to race outside the US due to budgets etc go to now? This seems like the ideal opportunity for WERA or another organising body to wrest control from DMG/AMA and run a breakaway national series that surely couldn't be any worse. I wonder how many more US riders we'll see in BSB next year because of this. |

well such is the racing in the good ole USA. dragracing isn't any better. The ama series has been gone for 2 or 3 seasons that is sort of replaced with the manufactures cup of 3 races. The AHDRA has been gone for a year replaced with nothing. I guess we need to chear up when you are at the bottom you can only look up. |

Well at least the prize money for the XR1200 series has increased again Before long that will be the ONLY AMA run road racing in the USA! Maybe they should let the Classic racing boys run Superbikes. Theys eem to do a good job of the Triumph Thruxton cup after all |

http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/editorial-fact s-dont-support-posted-claims-made-by-ama-pro-racin g-official ^^^^ OUCH! BUT TRUE^^^ Trojan >Well at least the prize money for the XR1200 series has increased again Before long that will be the ONLY AMA run road racing in the USA! I think that's been The MOTOR Company's evil plan all along. The sad part is they don't even sell XR1200's anymore. They have a habit of killing off production of any bikes in their line that can actually negotiate a race track. Soon there will be no need to read this thread. Meanwhile EBR ships parts to Spain to begin WSBK testing... GO EBR! (Message edited by classax on January 09, 2014) |

Well one thing is for sure. If Pegram is riding a EBR its going to be a progressive insurance sponsor so it will be his team. Now if that happens EBR will get put more in the lime light because Pegram has a reality show called Superbike family which most of you probably know. I'm guessing it to be true because the Graves bike was a rather expensive venture for Larry and he could only afford one bike. I'm thinking will see a West... young Amsoil sponsor team here in AMA and HERO backing?? |

I spoke with Danny Saturday evening at an indoor short track in Shawnee, Ok. He told me at that time he would be riding Daytona Sportbike probably on a Triumph, but was sure if it would be a Triumph. I guess the decision has been. Made. BTW it was fun watching him race that night and he ended up 3 rd in the main event which was won by my buddy Ronnie Jones. |

I'm sure if Danny would have had a crystal ball he never would have taken that Jordan ride - he could have been in WSBK this year. |

Hank, I always thought Ulrich would be a good candidate to make big changes. I hope he does it. |

Westby looks to be in a situation with his own team. Yama Lube.... Yamaha sponsor. Sure seems like theres better racing in 600 class this year. With Zemke back on a Honda. Eslick back in the 600 class,Gagne and others. Superbike looks less attractive. Hayes and new rookie teammate. Then ya have Cardenas but from there the only one to watch will be West. Hmmm will see how this shapes up. |

A good three round series with excellent TV coverage is better than a lousy 5 round series with no coverage. I hope Ulrich manages to pull this off. If he does it will be the death knell for DMG mehtinks..... |

If I was to make a bet it would be that DMG will sell AMA Pro Racing and maybe soon. |

If Ulrich and crew are able to create a series, and decide pursue it beyond this year, the only thing DMG could sell would be the AMA Pro Racing franchise logo rights. I don't see a market for anyone to buy it in its current condition. More over why buy a dead/dying franchise name if you have a workable alternative. I would think any series right now wants to distance itself from the train wreck that is DMG/AMA Pro Racing. No if this works and has any longevity, DMG and AMA Pro Racing will be irrelevant and simply fade away. That said I support motorcycle road racing, no matter who is doing it. |

sucks to see eslick back in daytona, he is made a mistake going with jordan, he should have stayed with EBR even it meant less money. he is defenetly a better rider then yates and geoff, no pun intended |

It wasn't a mistake that Eslick went. Jordan pulled the plug and understandable. I think electronics were eslicks problem. When he rode at EBR there wasn't any till last year. Then he went to Jordan and bang there they were. He never had to deal with them in Sportbike either. |

eslick did not do any better then the previous rider with Jordan. so either with or without electronics he got better results then ebr team. when he was ebr he was the best in the team. they actually finished 2nd in one race. |

Your right he didn't that would of been Bostrom. The Jordan bike is pretty well sorted bike. Roger was proof of that and yes identical bikes. I think Eslick is awesome don't get me wrong but I think hes a better 600 rider much like my opinion of Zemke. |
