Hello, new to the forum and a recently new Buell owner. I have an 04 Buell XB12s with 8500 miles and has the hiccup at 2200-2800rpms, HAS roughness in low rpms and HAD decel popping until I put in the Jardine QMI. I have a Jardine exhaust and K&N air filter. Was going to buy the race ecm but decided on ecmspy and load the race map. Today I did the tps reset. Maybe someone can let me know if something seems off on my pic from ecmspy. AFV is at 115, also one thing I noticed was that under firmware version it says BUEGB231. If I'm not mistaken isn't that the race map? If so, I'm lost because I was thinking loading it would do away with my problems. Also, right above that in the "engine" category it has some blocks highlighted, but they changed as it warmed up. If this is the race map that means I can't go back to the stock because I don't have it. Anyway, like I said, if anyone notices anything off from the reading please let me know. Thank you for your help, it is greatly appreciated. |

Hi Rick, don't know why I'm in closed loop but when I blip the throttle it goes to open loop and then back to closed loop. The rpms are at 877 because I just did the tps reset and was waiting for the bike to fully warm up before adjusting the idle to normal idle. |

More to the point why did'nt you save your original map as a backup file??? |

Let me be more specific since it doesn't seem to be clear in my original post. I bought this bike recently, bike was having rough running, bogging between 2k-3k rpms and popping (a lot), was told by the previous owner that I need the race ecm. Read about ecmspy, purchased ecmspy cable, read about race maps for stock ecm, connect ecmspy, did tps reset, noticed from it seems to me that this bike already has the race map (not sure though because I'm new to ecmspy), what ever is on the bike, on the ecm, was like that when I bought the bike. So, how could I save the stock maps when I never had them? My question is, can someone look at the values on my pic of ecmspy and tell me if anything looks off? Not trying to sound like a jerk, just trying to figure out how to get my bike running like it should be. Thank you for any help that can be given. |

BUEGB231 is just the firmware type and is not indicative of what programming the ECM has. We would need to see the Maps screen to determine if they are stock or not. Also, before you do any changes, save a copy of both the maps and EEPROM your bike currently has, it will make it easier to return back to how it was in the event things get worse. 115% AFV is a little on the high side but within normal spec, especially since it has an aftermarket can on it. Also, you can use the "Prt Scr" button on your keyboard to copy a screen shot to your computers clipboard, which you can then upload to a hosting site like www.imgur.com for easy sharing. Thanks froggy. I noticed today that on the ecm it has the GB231 as well. When I look at the race map txt file it says "reine" 1-6, just wondering if this is the fuel maps and ignition. If only fuel, where do I find the ignition maps? Thanks for the tip on saving screen shots, never knew about that and will definitely come in handy. |

Hey Andersonhdj, just a little misunderstanding in the messages I guess. I just wanted to make clear everyone understands what I'm talking about with what is going on with the bike. Gonna save the EEPROMs this weekend and do the race map. The bike is running a little bad in first gear this morning, no power and the dead spot from around 1500- around 3k rpms. Hasn't been that bad before. I changed back to the HD plugs yesterday, I did have NGKCRP9iex(?) in them but it seems to run a little more rough with the NGK. Also, my idle seems to not be stable. I set it to around 1100, but noticed when I sit at a light sometimes it will be down to around 900 and never seems steady, jumping from 900- to around 950. When I got home this morning from working out I pulled in to the driveway and it was back to around 1050-1100. Weird. |

Hey man! No sweat! I have come to realise we don't always understand each other especially coming from different parts of the world. interesting , your comment on NGK plugs , i have noted the same thing , and in fact , have noted that NGK's seem go south a lot sooner than the likes of Champions etc. Some years ago when i had a small bike shop going , it came to light that there were NGK knock-offs doing the rounds that were almost indistinguishable from the genuine article. Had lots of words with my suppliers about it. (Message edited by andersonhdj on January 13, 2014) |

I'm wondering about entering the race maps and what not. The file is a txt file, in the file it is labeled "reihe 1-6." Should these be entered separately as front map, rear map, etc.? Also, how would I get the eeprom to burn. I'm not looking at the program right now, so may be off a little on what I'm asking but from memory that's what I remember I was unsure about. |
